Robert Conrad stars as the unconventional squadron leader, Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington, with Simon Oakland, Dana Elcar, John Larroquette, James Whitmore Jr., Dirk Blocker, W.K. Stratton and Robert Ginty as the pilots known as the "Terrors of the South Pacific." This thrilling collection is fully loaded with all Season One episodes, plus the original two-hour pilot, of the war series where men were men, and the South Pacific was the place for unlimited adventure! The war drama, a fictionalized version of the real events of World War II's Gregory "Pappy" Boyington and his Black Sheep Squadron, was to wait until last year - 2016 - before the show's second and last season, Baa Baa Black Sheep - The Final Season, came to DVD (from Shout! Factory, and only as a Walmart exclusive). At that point in the show's run, they had re-titled the program Black Sheep Squadron, and that's the name which got used in syndication (so many people mainly know the series only by that title!). Now Universal has announced that they are going back and re-releasing the first 23 episodes (the pilot telefilm and 22 regular weekly episodes) together in one box for the first time, as Baa Baa Black Sheep - Season 1. This 5-DVD set will be available in stores on June 13th, and is priced at just $22.98 SRP. English SDH subtitles are there, and as a bonus it includes "From the NBC News Archives: Interviews with Major Gregory Boyington"...the REAL Greg Boyington, that is!
