SINGER-SONGWRITER JEWEL RETURNS AS SHANNON HUGHES IN "CONCRETE EVIDENCE: A FIXER UPPER MYSTERY" (WT) THE SECOND INSTALLMENT IN THE FRANCHISE ON HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES

STUDIO CITY, CA - February 28, 2017 - Singer-Songwriter Jewel stars in and serves as executive producer in "Concrete Evidence: A Fixer Upper Mystery" (wt), the second installment of the mystery movie franchise on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The new original movies stars Jewel ("Ride with the Devil," "Ring of Fire") and Colin Ferguson ("Eureka") and premieres Sunday, April 2, (9 p.m. ET/PT) on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

The "Fixer Upper Mysteries" movies are based upon New York Times bestselling author Kate Carlisle's series of books. In the small resort town of Lighthouse Cove, everyone knows that the best man for the job is a woman. And that woman is Shannon Hughes (Jewel), owner of Hughes Restoration and an expert in Victorian Home restoration. Through her work, she stumbles across clues hidden in the old homes, uncovering past secrets and becoming an unlikely sleuth to crack unsolved mysteries.

"We are honored to partner with the extraordinarily multi-talented Jewel to bring Kate Carlisle's books to life," said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming & Publicity. "On the heels of a successful 'Fixer Upper Mystery' franchise debut, we are thrilled to treat loyal viewers and fans the premiere of the second installment immediately, so that our audience doesn't have to wait long to enjoy what happens next!"

"I love that the heroine and lead in this series is a woman whose super power is learning to follow her intuition," said Jewel. "I couldn't be happier with the first movie, Joel Rice, and the entire cast and crew that made it possible."

The second installment in Jewel's "Fixer Upper" mystery series comes on the heels of a highly successful debut. "A Fixer Upper Mystery: Framed for Murder," the inaugural movie in the franchise, which premiered on January 15th, bowed to a 1.6 household rating, averaged 1.3 million total viewers, and was the most-watched Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original mystery movie premiere among households, women 25-54, Adults 25-54, and total viewers.

In "Concrete Evidence: A Fixer Upper Mystery," Shannon Hughes (Jewel) once again teams up with her partner in crime-solving to hammer out the details of the murder of her friend's sister that has gone unsolved for over 20 years. When home renovator extraordinaire Shannon Hughes finds a human skull in the basement of her current project, she sets out to discover who is behind the mysterious death by piecing together clues left behind in the victim's hidden diary. With the help of her new client, famous crime reporter and author Macintyre "Mac" Sullivan (Ferguson), they follow the trail to Shannon's old high school to nail the culprit, but not before another diary is discovered, a murder shocks the resort town, close friends are suspected of foul play, and the truth behind the overwhelming success and generous financial support of the high school's football team and athletic program is revealed.

"Concrete Evidence: A Fixer Upper Mystery" is a Muse Entertainment Production. Joel S. Rice, Jewel, Michael Prupas, Allen Lewis, Jeff Holland and Stan Spry are executive producers. John Cassini and Meghan Mathes are Supervising Producers. Harvey Kahn is producer. Mark Jean directs from a script written by Teena Booth.
