Join the nurses and nuns of Nonnatus House once more as they visit the expectant mothers of Poplar, providing the poorest women with the best possible care. It's now 1962 and times are changing. After receiving as SOS call from a mission hospital in South Africa, the Nonnatus family faces some of their toughest challenges yet with increasingly limited resources. Back in Poplar, when Sister Ursula is appointed the new head of Nonnatus House, Sister Julienne finds herself demoted and working back alongside the midwives. As they strive to help mothers and families cope with the demands of childbearing, disability, disease and social prejudice, our beloved medics must make choices - and fight battles - of their own. Inspired by the memoirs of midwife Jennifer Worth and starring Jenny Agutter (The Avengers), Charlotte Ritchie (Fresh Meat), Judy Pafitt (Little Dorrit) and Helen George (Doctors). Back in early March we had the heads-up about a May 23rd release date for Call the Midwife - Season 6 on DVD and Blu-ray Disc. Soon after we showed off a first (low-res) look at DVD cover art for this title. Now BBC Home Entertainment has sent out finished package art, in high-res images, for both the DVD and Blu-ray Disc versions of it...and we've got them for you below. BBC Home Entertainment is also confirming that the 3-DVD set and the 2-BD set will have the Christmas Special, as well as episodes 1-8. They give the running time for both formats as "567 mins + bonus content," but don't specify if the Christmas Special is the bonus material...or if there is some additional special features besides. If we find out, we'll let you know!
