Fusion’s newest docuseries, “OUTPOST, will air an all-new episode this Sunday, April 23 at 8 PM. In this week’s episode, New York-based, Egyptian chef, Laila Gohar, travels to Puerto Rico to investigate a nascent, burgeoning, local agricultural movement that is bringing good produce and great local food back to an island that has lost touch with its agrarian roots. Also featured in this episode is Fusion TV correspondent, Natasha Del Toro, who meets Puerto Rico’s punk rockers and investigates some of the very real issues exposed in their lyrics. Additionally, Natasha examines reports of the iconic tree frog, Coqui, and meets with the people trying to change its endangered status. “OUTPOST” airs Sunday nights with English-language episodes airing on FUSION TV at 8PM (channel listings) and Spanish-language episodes airing on UniMas at 11PM. “OUTPOST” “Puerto Rico” (Sunday, April 23 at 8 PM on Fusion TV) – English Language
“Puerto Rico” is a special episode that examines the US territory from a few surprising perspectives.
·         Food Revolution - Laila Gohar visits Puerto Rico to investigate a nascent, burgeoning local agricultural movement that’s bringing good produce, and great local food, back to an island that had lost touch with its agrarian roots.
·         Puerto Rican Punks - Natasha Del Toro meets the punk rockers of Puerto Rico and investigates some of the very real issues they have to sing about.
·         The Coqui - Natasha Del Toro goes to Puerto Rico to investigate reports that the iconic tree frog Coqui is endangered, and meets the people trying to change that.

With the help of special guest correspondents Jon Batiste (“Late Show with Stephen Colbert” bandleader, Jon Batiste and Stay Human), Jason Silva (“Brain Games,” “Shots of Awe”) Mike Tyson (former professional boxer), and Carmen Carrera (transgender model, LGBT rights advocate), as well as a series of other young, diverse correspondents, viewers get a chance to experience Latin America like never before, while taking in vibrant and unique stories with authentic local perspectives about subcultures, environmental matters, current events and adventure sports.  Additional guest correspondents include: Mia Maestro (“The Strain”), Michaela DePrince (Dutch National Ballet), Rudy Mancuso (social media star), Maya Gabeira (premier big wave surfer), Sean Reyngoudt (top kitesurfer) and Laila Gohar (New York-based chef). Complementing these guest correspondents are journalists: Kimberly Brooks, Vytenis Didziulis, Gabriel Leigh, Ramon Iriarte, Alice Brennan and Natasha Del Toro.

The inaugural season, the twelve-episode series focuses on stories and locals from Haiti, Brazil, Colombia, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Cuba, Argentina, Honduras, Chile and more. From Oaxaca to Argentina and Easter Island to Paraguay, the docuseries offers an offbeat and immersive exploration of Latin America.

“OUTPOST” Episode 107 – “The Underdogs” (Sunday, April 23 at 11 PM on UniMás) – Spanish Language
“The Underdogs” highlights three David and Goliath stories that showcase the little guy taking on a much bigger one in their own way.
·         Porta dos Fundos: Rudy Mancuso revisits his Brazilian ancestry and meets the people behind Porta dos Fundos, a sketch comedy troupe taking political and social commentary to the next level in Rio de Janeiro.
·         Extreme Mexican Wrestling: We team up with an amateur wrestling group trying to carve a niche for themselves in Mexico’s huge industry by employing brutal and bloody tactics.
·         Bolivia’s Cholita Warrior: Outpost flies to Bolivia to see how one indigenous woman is challenging the gender barrier inside and outside the ring.
