Father Knows Best - 'Wide' General Retail Release for 'Season 6,' The Show's Final Season The legendary program starring Robert Young comes back to DVD this July

For regular readers of our site, who enjoy this show, please note that this will be an almost-carbon-copy of the story we posted in January for the Season 5 "wide" release...changing only the particulars. Why? Because, frankly, there's just not a better way to explain this situation! Here goes... In April 2011, Shout! Factory released a DVD set for Father Knows Best - Season 6. However, it was only available online, via the studio's website store, as a part of a program called "Shout! Select" at the time. Note that back then, the phrase referred to DVD releases of TV shows and movies which could only be bought via the Shout! online store. The term fell into disuse by the studio for a while, then was recently revived to be used for a new Shout! Factory program: "Shout! Select" currently refers to a lineup of movie releases which the studio feels, in their own words, are "enduring cult favorites and unheralded gems.." As the original use of the "Shout! Select" phrase fell into disuse, so the titles released under that old program also became discontinued. Some items, though, still have fans looking to buy those titles! The result? Shout! has decided to re-release a few of these, and this time put them out into stores "wide" at traditional general retail. One of them is Father Knows Best - Season 6. The set will be available July 18th. The price will be $34.99 SRP for a 5-disc set. Amazon.com is taking pre-orders for the title, and they show the package art below.
