Los Angeles, April 17, 2017 - Rosalee (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Noah (Aldis Hodge) heroically travel back to the Macon Plantation to free Rosalee’s family in an all new episode of WGN America’s original scripted series, “Underground,” airing Wednesday, April 19 at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT). In the episode, entitled “28,” written by Misha Green and Joe Pokaski and directed by Anthony Hemingway, Rosalee and Noah are back on the Macon Plantation, and with the help of some familiar faces, they devise a plan to save James (Maceo Smedley III) and find out where Ernestine (Amirah Vann) has been taken. While Rosalee’s impatience leads her and Noah back into danger’s way, Ernestine finds herself in her own peril at the hands of Clara (DeWanda Wise) and her newfound power from a blossoming relationship with Master Matthew (Tyler Barnhardt). Crises continue with Cato (Alano Miller) as he is not only broken down mentally and physically by Patty Cannon (Sadie Stratton), but conversely, as he proves to be a menacing force of his own.
Hailing from Sony Pictures Television, “Underground” is created and written by Misha Green ("Sons of Anarchy," "Heroes") and Joe Pokaski ("Heroes," "Daredevil"), who serve as Executive Producers alongside Emmy-winning director Anthony Hemingway (“The People v. O.J. Simpson,” “Treme”); Academy Award-winning writer Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, I Am Legend) of Weed Road Pictures; Tory Tunnell (King Arthur, Holy Rollers) and Joby Harold (King Arthur, Edge of Tomorrow) of Safehouse Pictures; John Legend, Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius of Get Lifted Film Co (La Land, Southside with You); and Mark Taylor (“MadTV”).
