The Two New “Celebrity Undercover Boss” Episodes
Will Feature Grammy Award-Winning Musician Darius Rucker on May 12 and
World Famous Chef and Restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson on May 19
For the first time, two celebrities will embark on undercover journeys
as they search for undiscovered talent in their own fields, on two
special episodes of UNDERCOVER BOSS. “Celebrity Undercover Boss” will
feature Grammy Award-winning musician Darius Rucker on Friday, May 12,
and chef and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson on Friday, May 19. For the
first time on the series, state-of-the-art prosthetic makeup was used to
disguise Rucker and Samuelsson so they would not be recognized, despite
their fame.
“Celebrity Undercover Boss: Darius Rucker” – Grammy Award-winning
musician Darius Rucker, former lead singer for Hootie & the Blowfish
turned country music superstar, travels to Austin, Texas on an
undercover journey to discover the next great musical acts. During his
time undercover, Darius runs an open mic night, works as a roadie, and
strolls along Austin’s famous Sixth Street in search of standout street
performers, on UNDERCOVER BOSS, Friday, May 12 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
“Celebrity Undercover Boss: Marcus Samuelsson” – Internationally
acclaimed chef and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson goes undercover to
find and mentor new culinary talent. During his mission, he discovers
some gifted aspiring chefs at a public cooking class, a culinary
institute, a high-end food truck, and a soup kitchen, on UNDERCOVER
BOSS, Friday, May 19 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Darius Rucker first attained multi-platinum status in the music
industry as former lead singer and rhythm guitarist of GRAMMY
Award-winning Hootie & the Blowfish. Since re-introducing himself to
the world as a country artist, he has released four consecutive albums
to top the Billboard Country Albums chart and earned a whole
new legion of fans. In 2014, Rucker won his third career GRAMMY award
for Best Solo Country Performance, for his triple platinum selling cover
of Old Crow Medicine Show’s “Wagon Wheel,” off his album True Believers. Rucker’s first two country albums, Learn To Live and Charleston, SC 1966,
produced five #1 singles including “Come Back Song,” “This,” “Alright,”
“It Won’t Be Like This For Long” and “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About
It.” Southern Style, his fourth studio country album, features
his latest #1 single “Homegrown Honey,” co-written by Rucker, label mate
Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum and Nathan Chapman. Rucker’s

Marcus Samuelsson is an internationally acclaimed chef who has thrilled
the food scene with a blend of culture and artistic excellence and was
inducted into the James Beard Foundation “Who’s Who of Food and
Beverage” in America in 2016. Samuelsson caught the attention of the
culinary world during his tenure as executive chef at New York’s
Aquavit, where he received an impressive three-star rating from The New York Times,
the youngest person ever to receive such an accolade. Samuelsson is the
author of several cookbooks, including the James Beard Award-winning The Soul of a New Cuisine, Marcus Off Duty: The Recipes I Cook at Home and The Red Rooster Cookbook. Additionally, Marcus has released the young adult book Make It Messy, and his memoir, the New York Times bestseller and James Beard-winning Yes, Chef.
Samuelsson was the winner on both season two of “Top Chef Masters” and
the second season of “Chopped All-Stars,” and he serves as a recurring
judge on “Chopped.” He was also a mentor on “The Taste” and is the

His iconic restaurant, Red Rooster Harlem, has earned countless
accolades for its food, style and connection to the community. In
