Porridge - 'Wide' USA Release Date for 'The Complete Series' on DVD The BBC informs us to expect this 3-disc set at local State-side stores in August

Last December we first reported that Porridge - The Complete Series would be released on DVD in North America on February 7th of this year. On that street date, we updated you with word that the BBC Home Entertainment release was widely available in Canada only, and that in the States the sales were limited to the BBC Shop online store. That's been the case up until now, but today we've received confirmation directly from BBC Home Entertainment that Porridge - The Complete Series on DVD will "go wide" in the United States with a general retail release beginning August 22nd. List price is $34.98 SRP for a 3-disc set of 21 episodes, and it stars Ronnie Barker, Richard Beckinsale, Fulton MacKay, Brian Wilde, and Peter Vaughan ("Maester Aemon" from Game of Thrones).
