Celebrity Judges Are Will Arnett, Ken Jeong and Zach Galifianakis
“Episode 102” – “The Gong Show” makes it triumphant return to television, as the iconic and irreverent talent show competition makes its way into the 21st century with a bang! Celebrity judges Will Arnett, Ken Jeong and Zach Galifianakis are set to praise, critique and gong unusually talented and unique performers, on the premiere of “The Gong Show,” THURSDAY, JUNE 22 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network.
British comedic legend Tommy Maitland hosts.
Tonight’s acts include a unicycler – dressed in a yeti suit – playing flaming bagpipes, a married couple performing a choreographed banana spitting routine, a woman who plays the harmonica with a tarantula in her mouth, an obsessed fan who serenades judge Will Arnett with opera, and a scary wrestler who sings a children’s lullaby.
At the end of the show, the winning act with the highest judges’ scores will receive a fabulous “The Gong Show” trophy and a check for $2,000 and 17 cents.
“The Gong Show” is produced by Den of Thieves, Electric Avenue Productions and Principato Young Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures Television and is taped in front of a live audience. “The Gong Show” is executive produced by Will Arnett, Evan Prager, Jesse Ignjatovic, Conrad Green, Peter Principato and Marc Forman. Jared Morell, Jordan Barrow, David Bohnert, Chris Choun and Dan Norris are co-executive producers.
“The Gong Show” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format with a 5.1 channel surround sound. A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to the airdate.
