Critically acclaimed for its complex and thoughtful storytelling, The Paper Chase's third season is at long last available on DVD. Based on the 1973 film of the same name, The Paper Chase follows a dedicated class of Ivy League law students, as they navigate the trials and tribulations of law and life. Under the tutelage of Professor Charles W. Kingsfield, Jr. (John Houseman, reprising his Academy Award-winning role), the idealistic James T. Hart (James Stephens) and his classmates explore the fierce competition and intense bonds that form in a high pressure academic environment. Includes all twelve Season Three episodes. Waaaay back in 2009, Shout! Factory released both the first and second season of the show...but then had trouble licensing the final two seasons of the series from the program's owners! Now those difficulties seem to be resolved at last, and Shout! has announced that the long-awaited DVD release of The Paper Chase - Season 3 will finally happen on September 26th. Lainie Kazan (My Favorite Year, My Big Fat Greek Wedding) joined the cast this season, as did Peter Nelson (V, V: The Final Battle) as Ford's younger brother, "Tom." There were 12 episodes in this Showtime-aired season (and only half that amount in the show's fourth and final season, which hasn't been announced for DVD yet).
