TODAY posted its best weekly and biggest single-day total viewer deliveries in four months. TODAY also won the week in the key demo A25-54 marking 88 straight weeks in the top spot (104 of the last 105 weeks), its best streak in more than five years. The win marks TODAY's best weekly key demo average in four months.

NEW YORK (September 6, 2017) – “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt” was the #1 most-watched evening broadcast across the board for the week of August 28th according to Nielsen data.
The broadcast continues its winning streak in the in the demo most valued by news advertisers marking its 63rd straight week at #1. Nightly News averaged 2.1 million A25-54 viewers, beating “ABC World News Tonight” by +310,000 viewers (+17%) and “CBS Evening News” by +741,000 viewers (+55%).
Nightly News also grew week-over-week by 13 percent in the A25-54 demo, reaching a 29-week high – its largest A25-54 lead over ABC in 31 weeks and biggest margin over CBS in 54 weeks.
For the week, Nightly News averaged 1.5 million A18-49 viewers, topping ABC by +219,000 viewers (+17%) and CBS by +577,000 viewers (+63%). Among A18-49 viewers, Nightly News has won 108 of the last 109 weeks and reached a 29-week high.
8.5 million total viewers tuned in to Nightly News for the week of August 28, marking its largest audience in 27 weeks. Nightly News bested ABC by +4,000 viewers (+0.04%) and CBS by +2.3 million (+37%). Nightly New posted more week-over-week growth than any other evening newscast.
This week also overlapped with Holt’s unrivaled coverage of Hurricane Harvey and its historic aftermath. Holt was the first network anchor on the ground and anchored four consecutive broadcasts live from Texas (Sat., Aug. 26 – Tues., Aug. 29).

Jimmy Fallon & Seth Meyers Win the Rebroadcast Week Versus Their ABC-CBS Timeslot Competitors in Every Key Measure
NEW YORK — Sept. 6, 2017 — An encore week of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has taken the late-night ratings week of Aug. 28-Sept. 1 versus the rebroadcast time-period competition on ABC and CBS in every key measure – adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54, plus total viewers, according to “live plus same day” results from Nielsen Media Research.
For the encore week, “Tonight” averaged a 0.52 rating in adults 18-49, to win the week over ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” rebroadcasts (0.35) by a +49% margin and over CBS’ “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” encores (0.30) by +73%. In total viewers, Fallon’s 2.112 million bested “Late Show’s” 1.976 million by +136,000 viewers and “Kimmel’s” 1.628 million by +484,000.
At 12:35 a.m. ET last week, “Late Night with Seth Meyers” encores outrated Colbert rebroadcasts in 18-49 (0.31 vs. 0.30), despite starting an hour later.
Meyers finished #1 in the timeslot versus CBS’ rebroadcast week of “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in all key demographics, and in their head-to-head half-hour from 12:30 to 1 a.m. ET, “Late Night” also beat ABC’s “Nightline” originals in every key measure.
Meyers’ 18-49 margin over “Late Late Show” for the week was +72% (0.31 vs. 0.18).
At 1:35 a.m. ET for the week, “Last Call with Carson Daly” topped “Late Late Show” in 18-49 rating (0.21 vs. 0.18), despite starting an hour later.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Sept. 6, 2017 — NBC has finished #2 in adults 18-49 and total viewers for the primetime ratings week of Aug. 28-Sept. 3, led by the #1-2 primetime entertainment shows of the week on those nets in both categories, the Tuesday and Wednesday telecasts of “America’s Got Talent,” according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.
Excluding sports, NBC led the week in adults 18-49 and total viewers, and also outrated the Big 4 competition in adults, men and women 25-54; men and women 18-49; and men 18-34.
This is the 15th straight week NBC has finished as the #1 network in entertainment programming (excluding live news and sports) in 18-49 and 25-54. In total viewers, NBC has won 14 of the last 15 weeks in entertainment-program ratings.
Excluding sports, the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of “Talent” topped the week’s list of primetime shows on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in both adults 18-49 and total viewers, and on the 18-49 list “Talent” was joined by Monday’s “American Ninja Warrior” (#7), Wednesday’s 9 p.m. “Marlon” (tied for #10), Tuesday’s “Hollywood Game Night” (#12), Wednesday’s 9:30 “Marlon” (#13), Monday’s “Midnight, Texas” (tied for #14) and Friday’s encore “Dateline NBC” (tied for #14) among NBC’s top shows of the week.

“America’s Got Talent” (2.6/11 in 18-49, 13.1 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) increased by +8% versus last year’s third live performance episode in 18-49 (2.6 vs. 2.4 on Aug. 23, 2016) and +1.9 million persons or +17% in total viewers (13.1 million vs. 11.2 million). “Talent” ranked as the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in 18-49, total viewers and every other key measure, and dominated the time period in every key measure, beating the ABC, CBS and Fox timeslot competition combined in adults 18-49 and total viewers. L+3: “Talent” increased by +21% in 18-49 (2.63 to 3.19) and more than +2.1 million viewers overall (13.1 million to 15.3 million) going from L+SD to L+3 Nielsens. Nightly News also increased the most month-over-month, delivering the largest key demo win over CBS in six months.
The network also continued its winning streak among A18-49 viewers, outperforming competition for the 28th straight month. Nightly News averaged 1.3 million A18-49 viewers, besting ABC by +117,000 viewers (+10%) and CBS by +421,000 viewers (+50%).

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Aug. 29, 2017 — NBC has dominated the ratings week of Aug. 21-27 among the Big 4 networks in the key demographic of adults 18-49, as well as total viewers, led by the #1, 2 and 3 primetime shows of the week on those nets in both categories, Tuesday’s “America’s Got Talent,” Wednesday’s “Talent” and Sunday’s NBC Sports coverage of 49ers-Vikings NFL preseason football, according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.
The two editions of “Talent” and Sunday football teamed with Monday’s “American Ninja Warrior” (tied for #8) and Thursday’s “Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update” (tied for #8) to account for five of the week’s ten highest-rated primetime shows on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox. Also placing in the week’s top 15 were Wednesday’s 9 p.m. “Marlon” (tied for #11) and Tuesday’s “Hollywood Game Night” (tied for #11). Sports pre- and post-game shows are excluded from these rankings.
This is NBC’s tenth straight weekly win in 18-49 and the network has taken seven in a row and nine of ten in total viewers.
Counting just entertainment programming, NBC won the week in both adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, marking the 14th straight week NBC has finished as the #1 network in entertainment programming (excluding live news and sports) in 18-49 and 25-54. In total viewers, NBC also ranked #1 and has won 13 of the last 14 weeks in entertainment-program ratings.
NBC’s average for the week of 5.5 million viewers makes this the most-watched week for any network in 11 weeks, since ABC averaged 6.8 million for June 5-11 during the NBA Finals. In adults 18-49, NBC’s 1.2 rating equals the high for any net in 10 weeks, since ABC’s 1.5 for June 12-18, also during the NBA Finals (matching over that span NBC’s 1.2 for the week of July 31-Aug. 6).
In addition to ranking #1 among Big 4 primetime telecasts for the week in 18-49 and total viewers, “America’s Got Talent” was #1 in adults 25-54, adults 18-34, all key adult-female demos, kids 2-11 and teens 12-17. “Talent” has been the #1 entertainment show on the broadcast networks in both total viewers and adults 18-49 every week it’s aired this summer.

L+3: “Midnight, Texas” grew by +25% in 18-49 (0.61 to 0.76) and +545,000 viewers overall (2.8 million to 3.3 million) going from L+SD to L+3. Tuesday
NBC won Tuesday night, dominating in 18-49, total viewers and every other key measure. It was NBC’s 32ndwin over the last 34 Tuesdays among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49. In total viewers, it’s NBC’s 13thTuesday win in a row among those nets.
“America’s Got Talent” (2.6/11 in 18-49, 12.6 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) grew +4% versus last year’s second live performance episode in 18-49 (2.6 vs. 2.5 on Aug. 2, 2016) and by +1.2 million persons or +10% in total viewers (12.755 million vs. 11.567 million). “Talent” was the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in 18-49 and total viewers and dominated the time period in every key measure, beating the ABC, CBS and Fox competition combined in adults 18-49 and total viewers. L+3: “Talent” increased by +26% in 18-49 (2.57 to 3.23) and +2.3 million viewers overall (12.6 million to 14.9 million) going from L+SD to L+3 Nielsens. The increases of +0.66 of a rating point and +2.3 million viewers overall were the night’s biggest L+3 lifts in 18-49 rating and total viewers.

This is NBC’s ninth straight weekly win in 18-49 and the network has taken eight of nine weeks in total viewers.

“America’s Got Talent” paced the week matching its season-high in 18-49 and hitting a new season high in total viewers. Its 2.8 rating in 18-49 equaled the show’s Aug. 1 telecast and a March 22 “Empire” (2.8 each) as the highest rated primetime entertainment program on any Big 4 network since the March 14 “This Is Us” season finale (3.4), while the 13.4 million in total viewers is a primetime high for Big 4 entertainment programming since April 4 (13.8 million for CBS’ “NCIS”).
Finishing among the top-rated primetime shows on the Big 4 networks last week were: Tuesday’s “America’s Got Talent” (#1), Wednesday’s “Talent” (tied for #2), “American Ninja Warrior” (tied for #7), Wednesday’s “Marlon” series premiere (tied for #9), Thursday’s “Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update” (tied for #9), Tuesday’s “Hollywood Game Night” (tied for #9) and Wednesday’s second “Marlon” (tied for #14).

NEW YORK (August 15, 2017) – “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt” won the key demo for the week of August 7th, marking its 60th straight week at #1.
The broadcast continues to dominate with viewers most valued by news advertisers, averaging 1.695 million A25-54 viewers. The broadcast led “ABC World News Tonight” by +77,000 viewers (+5 percent) and “CBS Evening News” by +433,000 viewers (+34 percent). Nightly News grew week-over-week by 3 percent in the key demo, posting its largest A25-54 audience in eight weeks.
For the week, Nightly News averaged 1.199 million A18-49 viewers, outperforming ABC by +90,000 viewers (+8 percent) and CBS by +354,000 viewers (+42 percent). Among A18-49 viewers, Nightly News has won 105 of the last 106 weeks.
7.588 million total viewers tuned into Nightly News on average for the week of August 7, leading CBS by +1.808 million (+31 percent).

It’s Jimmy Fallon’s Top-Rated Week in Adults 18-49 Since June 19-23, Seth Meyers Earns an Eight-Week High in 18-49, Wins In All Key Measures
NEW YORK — Aug. 15, 2017 — Delivering his top averages since June, “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has finished #1 for the late-night ratings week of Aug. 7-11 versus its ABC and CBS time-period competition in every key demographic – adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54 -- according to “live plus same day” results from Nielsen Media Research.
Fallon generated a seven-week high in 18-49, a six-week high in total viewers and his most competitive finishes versus a first-run week of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” since June.
Versus the prior week, “Tonight’s” 18-49 margin over Colbert grew from +20% (with a 0.60 rating vs. a 0.50 for the week of July 31-Aug. 4) to +54% (0.65 vs. 0.42), the biggest advantage for “Tonight” since a +62% win for the week of June 19-23 (0.68 vs. 0.42).
In total viewers, “Tonight” cut the “Late Show” margin week to week by 73%, finishing last week within 248,000 viewers of “Late Show” (2.477 million vs. 2.725 million) versus a 905,000 gap the prior week (2.309 million vs. 3.214 million for July 31-Aug. 4). It’s “Tonight’s” closest finish in total viewers versus a week of Colbert originals since a 183,000-viewer gap for the week of June 26-30.
For the week, “Tonight” scored its best weeklong average in adult 18-49 rating (0.65) since June 19-23 (0.68) and most-watched week (2.477 million viewers) since June 26-30 (2.546 million).
At 12:35 a.m. ET last week, “Late Night with Seth Meyers” generated its highest 18-49 rating (0.37) in eight weeks (since the week of June 12-16, 0.38) and best total-viewer result (1.346 million) in six weeks (since June 26-30, 1.314 million).
Meyers finished #1 in the timeslot versus CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in all key categories, and in their head-to-head half-hour from 12:30 to 1 a.m. ET, “Late Night” beat ABC’s “Nightline” in every key measure.
At 1:35 a.m. ET, encore telecasts of “Last Call with Carson Daly” generated the show’s best 18-49 average (0.22) in 12 weeks (since a 0.24 for the week of May 15-19) and top total-viewer tally (754,000) in eight weeks (since 758,000 for the week of June 12-16).

TODAY has now won 101 of the last 102 weeks in the key demo (85 straight weeks), its best streak in more than four years. Of the morning news shows, TODAY delivered the biggest week-to-week growth across the board posting eight-week highs among A25-54 and A18-49. TODAY also had its best key demo delivery in eight weeks and widest advantages over GMA in six weeks. TODAY posted its best total viewer delivery in seven weeks, and its closest total viewer gap with GMA in seven months, since January.
TODAY’s A25-54 and A18-49 wins over GMA have reached five-year highs, and TODAY has increased its A25-54 advantage over GMA by 8% versus last season.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Aug. 15, 2017 — NBC has scored a convincing win for the ratings week of Aug. 7-13 among the Big 4 networks in the key demographic of adults 18-49, as well as total viewers, led by five of the week’s top nine 18-49 ratings among Big 4 primetime shows generated by two editions of “America’s Got Talent” plus the season finale of “World of Dance,” “American Ninja Warrior” and the season debut of “Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update,” according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.
This is NBC’s eighth straight weekly win in 18-49 and the network has taken seven of eight in total viewers.
Counting just entertainment programming, NBC won the week in both adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, marking the 11th straight week NBC has finished as the #1 network in entertainment programming (excluding live news and sports) in 18-49 and 25-54. In total viewers, NBC also ranked #1 and has won 10 of the last 11 weeks in entertainment-program ratings.
“America’s Got Talent” paced the week with the highest primetime results on broadcast television in adults 18-49, total viewers, adults 25-54, kids 2-11 and teens 12-17. “World of Dance” finished #2 on those rankers behind only “Talent” in total viewers, adults 25-54 and teens 12-17. “Talent” has been the #1 entertainment show of the week on broadcast TV every week it’s aired this summer in both 18-49 and total viewers.
Finishing among the nine top-rated primetime shows on the Big 4 networks last week were: “America’s Got Talent” (#1), “World of Dance” (tied for #3), “American Ninja Warrior” (#7), Wednesday’s “Talent” recap (#8) and Thursday’s season debut of “Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update” (#9).
Other top-rated NBC telecasts of the week included “Midnight, Texas” (tied for #14), “The Carmichael Show” (tied for #18), “The Wall” (tied for #18) and “Dateline NBC” (tied for #18).
Season to date, NBC ranks #1 in adults 18-49, with a +19% margin over Fox, despite Fox’s boosts from the Super Bowl and last fall’s seven-game Cubs-Indians World Series. “American Ninja Warrior” (1.5/6 in 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) matched its season high in 18-49 and set a new season high in total viewers despite this week’s competition from ABC’s season finale of “The Bachelorette.” Week to week, “Ninja” grew +7% in 18-49 (1.5 vs. 1.4) and +5% in total viewers (6.2 million vs. 5.9 million).
“Live Plus Three Day” Ratings: “Ninja” grew by +15% in 18-49 (from a 1.51 rating to a 1.73) and +684,000 viewers overall (6.2 million to 6.9 million) going from “live plus same day” Nielsens to L+3.
“Live Plus Seven Day” Ratings: “American Ninja Warrior” has grown by +23% in 18-49 rating so far this summer going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 1.42 to a 1.75) and +1.0 million viewers overall (5.7 million to 6.7 million).
Upscale: “Ninja” is delivering a strong upscale audience, indexing at a 122 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (with 100 representing an average concentration of those homes, “most current” including L+3).
“Midnight, Texas” (0.8/3 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) maintained 100% week to week in adults 18-49 (0.8 vs. 0.8) and remained within 0.1 of the show’s premiere rating (0.9 on July 24), despite special competition this week from ABC’s “Bachelorette” season finale, which tripled the prior Monday’s ABC rating in the slot (2.1 vs. 0.7 for “To Tell the Truth”). The 0.8 is the top Week 3 rating for any new or returning summer drama on the Big 4 networks in 18-49 so far this summer, giving “Midnight” the highest Week 1, Week 2 and Week 3 ratings for any new or returning summer drama on the Big 4 networks in 18-49. “America’s Got Talent” (2.7/11 in 18-49, 13.3 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) was the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in 18-49, total viewers and all other key categories. The Aug. 8 “Talent” maintained 96% of the prior week’s season high in 18-49 (2.7 vs. 2.8) and 99.9% of the previous week’s season high in total viewers (13.316 million vs. 13.327 million). L+3: “Talent” increased by +25% in 18-49 (2.74 to 3.42) and +2.3 million viewers overall (13.3 million to 15.6 million) going from L+SD to L+3 Nielsens. The increases of +0.68 of a rating point and +2.3 million viewers overall were the night’s biggest L+3 lifts in 18-49 rating and total viewers. “America’s Got Talent” paced the week with season-high results in 18-49 and total viewers, with its 2.8 rating in 18-49 the highest for any primetime entertainment telecast on the Big 4 networks since March 22 (2.8 for Fox’s “Empire”) and the 13.227 million in total viewers a primetime high for Big 4 entertainment programming since May 9 (13.389 million for CBS’ “NCIS”). “Talent” has been the #1 entertainment show of the week on broadcast TV every week it’s aired this summer in both 18-49 and total viewers.
Finishing among the eight top-rated primetime shows on the Big 4 networks last week were: “America’s Got Talent” (#1), the “NFL Hall of Fame Game” (#2), “World of Dance” (#6) and “American Ninja Warrior” (#8). Rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows.
In total viewers, NBC accounted for the week’s three most-watched programs on the broadcast networks: the most-watched “Talent” of the season (#1), the “Hall of Fame Game” (#2) and “World of Dance” (#3).
This is NBC’s seventh straight weekly win in 18-49 and the network has taken six of seven in total viewers.
Counting just entertainment programming, NBC won the week in both adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, marking the 10th straight week NBC has finished as the #1 network in entertainment programming (excluding live news and sports) in 18-49 and 25-54. In total viewers, NBC has won nine of the last ten weeks in entertainment-program ratings.
Season to date, NBC ranks #1 in adults 18-49, with a +19% margin over CBS and Fox, despite Fox’s boosts from the Super Bowl and last fall’s seven-game Cubs-Indians World Series. NBC also ranks #1 or tied for #1 for the season among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults, men and women 25-54; men and women 18-49; adults 18-34 and women 18-34.
Counting only entertainment programs season to date (excluding live news and sports), NBC ranks #1 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49.

“Live Plus Three Day” Ratings: “Ninja” grew by +13% in 18-49 (from a 1.42 rating to a 1.61) and +596,000 viewers overall (5.9 million to 6.5 million) going from “live plus same day” Nielsens to L+3.

L+3: “Midnight, Texas” grew by +47% in 18-49 (0.79 to 1.16) and mor than +1.2 million viewers overall (3.3 million to 4.5 million) going from L+SD to L+3, for the biggest L+3 lifts of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49 percentage and total viewers. NBC won Tuesday night, beating the ABC-CBS-Fox competition combined in 18-49, total viewers and every other key measure.
“America’s Got Talent” (2.8/12 in 18-49, 13.3 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) set new season highs in adults 18-49 and total viewers, generating the show’s top results since last summer’s season finale (2.8 in 18-49, 14.4 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016). The 2.8 rating equals a three-year high for “Talent” in 18-49, matching last summer’s Monday and Tuesday finales for the show’s highest 18-49 rating since Tuesday, June 3, 2014 (2.9). Versus the same night last year, “Talent” was up +12% in 18-49 (2.8 vs. 2.5 on Aug. 2, 2016) and +1.8 million persons or +15% in total viewers (13.3 million vs. 11.6 million) and was the night’s #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in 18-49, total viewers and all other key categories. L+3: “Talent” increased by +24% in 18-49 (2.76 to 3.43) and +2.4 million viewers overall (13.3 million to 15.7 million) going from L+SD to L+3 Nielsens. The increases of +0.67 of a rating point and +2.406 million viewers overall were the night’s biggest L+3 lifts in 18-49 rating and total viewers. L+7: “Talent” is growing by +37% this season in 18-49 rating (from a 2.57 to a 3.52) and +3.4 million viewers overall (12.5 million to 15.9 million) going from L+SD to L+7.
