NEW YORK, NY – August 23, 2017 – Time Inc.’s (NYSE: TIME) free streaming network, People/Entertainment Weekly Network (PEN), today announced the launch of "People Crime," a new programming franchise that will harness the extensive investigative reporting resources of the iconic PEOPLE brand, offering exclusive access and insider knowledge to create a powerful and emotional, signature series that explores the human side of the most gripping crime stories of our time. Available now is the premiere episode, “People Crime: Prep School Sex Abuse Scandal," which delves into the case of the elite Connecticut boarding school, Choate Rosemary Hall, where at least 12 former teachers sexually molested students, dating back to the 1960s, according to a report released by an investigator for the Board of Trustees. Throughout the episode, one victim shares their story and how their life has been affected in the aftermath. To view, go to PEOPLE.com/PEN or download the PEN app on connected-TV devices, and join the conversation with @PeopleEWNetwork on Twitter and Facebook.

“As PEN's original programming slate continues to expand and evolve, it is clear that human interest and crime stories resonate with our viewers and are a big draw, in addition to our signature celebrity and pop culture shows," said JJ Miller, Executive Producer, Style and Entertainment Group, Time Inc. "PEN has the unique ability to tap into the esteemed PEOPLE Crime investigative team to provide our viewers with a gripping series, which they can watch anytime and anywhere."

At launch, "People Crime" will offer a slate of crime-centric programming, including: "10 Years Later: The Virginia Tech Massacre," "Oxygen's The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway," "A Killer at Daycare?," "I Forgave The Man Who Shot Me," "The Cheerleader and The Hitman" and "Boko Haram: Our Journey to Freedom." Each "People Crime" episode is told through exclusive interviews with the friends and families of the victims, prosecutors, and of course, whenever possible, the victims themselves. Visually, the narratives will be brought to life through personal photos and videos, archival news reports and court documents.

"People Crime" joins a line-up of PEN tentpole original programming franchises that include: "People Weddings," featuring the intimate behind-the-scenes nuptials of high-profile celebrities; "People Features," highlighting human interest and celebrity stories; "Entertainment Weekly Cast Reunions," featuring cast reunions from beloved series and films; "People Cover Story," bringing the weekly PEOPLE cover story to life and "PEN Specials," offering everything from celebrity roundtables to cooking features.
"People Crime" is produced by Time Inc. (NYSE:TIME) at the leading content company's in-house studios, where additional PEN originals are filmed and produced.
