The new eight-episode, half-hour SHOWTIME comedy series SMILF is a raw, honest look at the life of a 20-something single mom from quadruple threat Frankie Shaw. The series takes a comedic look at the life of Bridgette Bird (Shaw), a young Boston Southie whose desires for relationships, sex, and a career collide with the realities of working class single motherhood. Shaw brings her singular, unapologetic point of view as star, writer, executive producer and director of the semi-autobiographical comedy series. The cast includes multiple Emmy(R) winner Rosie O'Donnell in her first series regular TV role as Bridgette's prideful, outspoken Southie mother, along with Miguel Gomez, Samara Weaving, and Alexandra and Anna Reimer. Guest stars include Emmy and Golden Globe(R) nominee Connie Britton, Mark Webber and Raven Goodwin. In SHAMELESS, Golden Globe nominee Emmy Rossum stars opposite William H. Macy, nominated for four consecutive Emmy Awards and winner of the 2017 Screen Actors Guild(R) Award for his role as Frank Gallagher. Rossum plays Fiona, the eldest of six fierce and independent Gallagher kids who support each other while absentee father, Frank, spends his time scheming his way around the South Side of Chicago. Season eight finds the Gallaghers on an upswing - Frank comes out of a drug-induced haze and decides it's finally time to be a contributing member of society, while Fiona faces hard decisions when she discovers her success as a landlord may mean someone else's misfortune. Lip (Jeremy Allen White) struggles with unexpected sacrifices he must make to stay sober, while Ian (Cameron Monaghan) takes up a cause in hopes of getting back with Trevor. Debbie (Emma Kenney) builds her future at welding school while juggling life as a single working mom, as Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) gets creative finding tuition money after he loses his scholarship. Meanwhile, Liam (Christian Isaiah) discovers just how different the Gallaghers are from the families of his rich classmates as Frank schools him on "sticking it to the man." Now, Guy is searching for Food Network's next big culinary-travel series. After receiving and sorting through thousands of submissions from hopeful hosts with promising concepts, Guy and his team of food and television experts narrowed it down to a final group of prospects that will vie to have their idea developed into a show on Guy's Big Project. The six-episode journey begins on Sunday, November 5th at 9pm ET/PT and documents every twist and turn as the prospects move from initial pitch through development to network review, to the ultimate end goal - the premiere of a new show on Food Network.

The journey begins with the finalists picking a restaurant that best represents them and their show idea, where they film a pitch video to convey what their show would be about. Then, the pressure heats up as they whip up a meal in Guy's personal kitchen that embodies their idea. One prospect will find the feedback hard to chew and will be sent home.
 
As the season progresses, the prospects are put through the paces by Guy and his team, learning that there is a lot more to hosting a food-television show than a passion for food and cooking skills. From describing each bite of food in order to convey the flavors, aromas and textures, to engaging the audience while eating and interviewing a wide variety of chefs, there is a lot to digest especially when your hopes and dreams are on the line.

On the finale on Sunday, December 10th at 9pm ET/PT, the remaining prospects each shoot a pilot employing all the skills they learned from the previous weeks. After submitting their tapes to the network, they must wait to hear the decision. Immediately following the finale, at 10pm ET/PT, viewers will find out who made the cut as they get a sneak peek of the winner's series!

With a legendary career spanning over 40 years, Eddie Money has long-established himself as one of rock's most beloved entertainers. After leaving his native Brooklyn for the Berkeley music scene in the 1970s, Money quickly rose to fame on the strength of a slew of successful albums and Top 40 hits including "Take Me Home Tonight," "Shakin'," "Think I'm In Love," "Baby Hold On," and many more. Now, at 68 years old, Money continues to tour across the country with his band, which includes three of his equally talented offspring.

Duo Set as Showrunners for First-Ever Live Action TV Series Based on Sword Art Online
SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- Skydance Television today announced that it has augmented its growing roster of creative talent by entering into a multi-year overall agreement with award-winning writer-producers Patrick Massett and John Zinman (Friday Night Lights, The Blacklist, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider).

The studio currently has several projects in development with the pair, including the first-ever live action television series for Sword Art Online (SAO), the massive Japanese novel and anime franchise to which Skydance acquired the global rights last year. Massett and Zinman will serve as writers, showrunners, and executive producers on the Skydance series. Together with Massett and Zinman, Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar, Altered Carbon) will write the pilot episode and serve as an executive producer on the SAO series alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Marcy Ross. Kalogridis, who has an exclusive overall deal at Skydance, first introduced the studio to the property and the world of SAO.

"Patrick and John have shown incredible range in their storytelling capabilities, from subtle character drama to big, world-building action, and we are beyond fortunate that they have joined the Skydance family," said Skydance Television President Marcy Ross. Skydance's SAO series will follow brilliant young beta tester Kirito and his group of friends when they are trapped, along with 10,000 other people, in a next-generation virtual reality online role-playing game filled with swordfighting, monsters, and mystery.

Massett and Zinman's television careers began with Veritas: The Quest at ABC, which they co-created and executive produced before going on to co-executive produce the Emmy(R) Award winning Friday Night Lights at NBC, The Chicago Code at FOX, and Last Resort at ABC. The duo then co-executive produced The Blacklist at NBC. Their most recent television credit includes executive producers and showrunners at NBC's The Player. The pair got their start in film by co-writing Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and their most recent film, Gold was released in January 2017. Their films Resistance and Sea of Thunder are currently in pre-production.

Two weeks ago we brought you HBO's press release announcing DVD and Blu-ray versions of Game of Thrones - The Complete 7th Season coming to stores on December 12th. Now we've learned that on the same date HBO Home Entertainment will also release the Game of Thrones - The Complete Seasons 1 to 7 Giftset as well. We don't have pricing, but cover art is below. Amazon.com has listings for this title on both Blu-ray Disc and standard DVD, but isn't accepting pre-orders at the time of this writing. Check back, though!

One of the good men at Scotland Yard, George Gently (Martin Shaw) relocates to Northumberland, takes on a headstrong sidekick (Lee Ingleby), and starts solving murders in a time of profound change: the swinging Sixties. Based on Alan Hunter's novels, all 8 series of the BBC series are available here in one set. At the beginning of this month we had the heads-up that on November 28th, RLJ Entertainment's Acorn Media will release Inspector George Gently - Series 8 on DVD and Blu-ray Disc...the last series (season) of the program! Now Amazon has also added pre-order listings, with the same release date, for DVD and Blu-ray Disc versions of Inspector George Gently - The Complete Collection. The title will cost $149.99 SRP in either format. English SDH subtitles are included on both versions. Box art isn't available yet, but stay tuned!

A week ago we broke the news that the 1989 classic cartoon from Ruby-Spears Enterprises will come to DVD on October 10th as Dink, the Little Dinosaur - The Complete Series! At the time we had all the info about this MOD (manufacture on demand) item from the Warner Archive Collection, but box cover art hadn't been finalized yet. Now the studio has finished that image and begun distributing it, and we've got a look at that for you this afternoon! Check it out:

Early last week we reported that The Leftovers - The 3rd and Final Season was coming to stores on DVD this October 10th. We also passed on word that the title would also be available on Blu-ray Disc in October, as an online-exclusive title from the Warner Archive. But we didn't have a specific date, nor pricing. Of course we EXPECTED it to be available on the same day as the DVD version...and that turns out to be the case! Amazon.com's pre-order listing for the Blu-ray version (see button link below) confirms the 10/10 date, and provides a price of $29.99 for the high-def BD version. Here once more is the package art:

First-Ever All-Star Edition!
It’s an all-new season and for the first time ever in HELL’S KITCHEN history, Chef Ramsay invites 16 All-Stars back to the kitchen for a second chance to prove they have what it takes. Old rivalries are renewed and new alliances are formed, but in the end, only one of these all-stars will claim the grand prize – a head chef position at the brand-new Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen Restaurant at Caesars Palace Las Vegas and $250,000. During the premiere episode, Chef Ramsay surprises the 16 former Black Jacket chefs with a twist on the infamous Signature Dish Challenge. The winning team will enjoy the ride of their lives at Skyslide in downtown Los Angeles, followed by a dinner with Chef Ramsay and special guest Wolfgang Puck at his restaurant, WP24.
