Marvel's Inhumans (8-10pm - 3.8 million and 0.9/4 in AD18-49): After becoming the first-ever TV series to make a theatrical premiere in IMAX earlier this month, ABC's Marvel's Inhumans opened at #1 in its linear Live + Same Day TV debut in Adults 18-49 (0.9/4) on Friday night from 8-10pm, tying season premieres on CBS (MacGyver/Hawaii Five-0 = 0.9/4) and beating Fox premieres by 29% (Hell's Kitchen/The Exorcist = 0.7/3). And despite airing on Friday with lower TV Usage levels, Inhuman's opened above the 2017 Live + Same Day averages (1/10-5/16/17) for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Total Viewers (3.8 million vs. 2.2 million) and Adults 18-49 (0.9/4 vs. 0.7/3). S.H.I.E.L.D. was one of last season's biggest gainers in TV Playback in Adults 18-49, jumping over its L+SD rating by +100% in Live + 3 Day and +129% in Live + 7 Day. In fact it was the #2 biggest percentage gainer last season on the major nets in L+7 Adults 18-49, behind only ABC's Designated Survivor (+142%).

With its Thursday dramas consistently delivering big increases in TV Playback, ABC will considerably close the Adult 18-49 competitive gap on the night with CBS in Live + 3 Day and Live + 7 Day ratings. ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder” was one of last season’s biggest gainers in Live + 7 Day TV playback, doubling (+100%) its Live + Same Day Adult 18-49 rating and growing by +3.3 million Total Viewers in the finalized L+7 playback numbers. In addition last season, “Grey’s” added +1.4 Adult 18-49 rating points to its L+SD number in playback to average a 3.5 rating for the season in Live +7.

“Nightline” narrowed its margins with NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” from the previous season in Adults 25-54 (-17% – 104,000 vs. 126,000) and Adults 18-49 (-7% – 115,000 vs. 123,000).
3Q 2017:
ABC News’ “Nightline” averaged 1.254 million Total Viewers, 477,000 Adults 25-54 and 352,000 Adults 18-49 during the 3rd Quarter 2017, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” beat CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (1.194 million, 407,000 and 306,000, respectively) during the 3rd quarter in Total Viewers (+60,000), Adults 25-54 (+70,000) and Adults 18-49 (+46,000) for the 3rd straight year.
“Nightline” has topped the CBS program across the board in all 10 quarters that the two programs have aired in the time slot. In addition, “Nightline” outdelivered “The Late Late Show” by its largest quarter advantages in the key adult demos in 5 quarters – since 2Q16.
“Nightline” decreased its gaps with NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” from the year-ago quarter in Total Viewers (-3% – 104,000 vs. 107,000), Adults 25-54 (-42% – 84,000 vs. 145,000) and Adults 18-49 (-24% – 106,000 vs. 139,000).

ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.265 million) during the week of September 18, 2017, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” beat CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (1.202 million) by 63,000 and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” (1.229 million) by 36,000.
“Nightline” also defeated CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (401,000 and 329,000, respectively) in Adults 25-54 (+68,000) and Adults 18-49 (+16,000).

In fact, "Millionaire" was the only syndicated game show to improve year to year in the key Women 25-54 demo.

“Nightline” narrowed its week-to-week margins with NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” by double digits in Total Viewers (-67% – 30,000 vs. 90,000), Adults 25-54 (-63% – 50,000 vs. 134,000) and Adults 18-49 (-51% – 71,000 vs. 145,000) to its closest key adult performances with the NBC program in 2 months – since w/o 7/10/17.
“Nightline” slashed its year-to-year gaps with NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” by more than half in Adults 25-54 (-64% – 50,000 vs. 140,000) and Adults 18-49 (-56% – 71,000 vs. 160,000).

With “Bachelor in Paradise,” back-to-back repeats of “black-ish” and “Somewhere Between,” ABC delivered the No. 2 network position on Tuesday night in Adults 18-49 (0.7/3) to an “America’s Got Talent”-led NBC.
- Coming in behind only “America’s Got Talent” on the evening, ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” stood as Tuesday’s No. 2 TV show in Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).
“Bachelor in Paradise” (8:00-9:00 p.m. – 4.4 million and 1.2/5 in AD18-49):
Cutting back to a 1-hour format this week from 8:00-9:00 p.m. against NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” rose for the 2nd week in Total Viewers (+2% – 4.44 million vs. 4.36 million) and held even with its week-ago Fast Affiliate Adults 18-49 rating (1.2/5), which were both Tuesday season highs for the show. Please note: Last week, “Bachelor in Paradise” went up by 1-tenth in the National Adults 18-49 ratings.
“Somewhere Between” (10:00-11:00 p.m. – 1.9 million and 0.4/2 in AD18-49):
Despite coming out of repeats at 10:00 p.m., ABC’s “Somewhere Between” held even with its week-ago Adults 18-49 rating (0.4/2) to tie a Tuesday high. Building for the 4th consecutive week in Total Viewers (+12% – 1.9 million vs. 1.7 million), the ABC freshman drama marked its most watched telecast on the night.
