This prequel to the "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" films -- taking place before giant food started raining down on Swallow Falls -- features the adventures of would-be scientist Flint Lockwood during his high school years when he hoped to become a serious scientist and eventually not have his inventions blow up in his face. For now, though, he often isn't so lucky with the projects that he works on. Joining Flint on his adventures is new classmate and best friend Sam Sparks, the school's wannabe ace reporter. The Cartoon Network airs episodes of the 2-D animated series spun off from the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs films, and now Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced a pair of DVDs based on that show! First up on October 10th is the Halloween-themed release Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs: The Series - Swallow-Een Falls Spooktacular!. Cost is $9.99 SRP, and package art - front and rear - can be seen below. Then, on October 31st, Sony is putting out Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs: The Series - Lobster Claus Is Coming to Town, also for $9.99 SRP. This is a new-to-DVD holiday special, which is expected to air on TV closer to Christmas. Front and rear artwork for that is also below. Also, closed captioning is included on both titles.
