The Drama Continues During New Episodes of ABC’s ‘Bachelor in Paradise,’ Monday, September 4, and Tuesday, September 5
THE DRAMA NEVER ENDS WHEN IT COMES TO LOVE
ON ABC’S ‘BACHELOR IN PARADISE’
“Episode 404A” – The summer is winding down, but the drama is ratcheting up as tonight’s tear-drenched episode of “Bachelor in Paradise,” airing MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, begins. One unhappy guy in particular is running out of time, as the two balling babes he’s been juggling are running out of patience. When he receives a cold shoulder over breakfast from one, he decides he’d better check in with her. Turns out, she was sitting poolside the previous night when things heated up in the water between him and the other one. Although he asks for her patience, she has none left to give, at least not for this kind of disrespectful treatment.
One would think that the hurting honey would jump at the chance to go on a date with someone else, but not, evidently, when that someone else is the new arrival. The oh so reject-able rogue talks to every woman in Paradise before one will accept his date card, but that’s only because she wants to escape the drama that she has created for herself back at the resort by sharing her affections with two different men.
A newer, hotter arrival has an easier time getting a date when the first woman he asks says yes, even though her last date thought that the two of them were a thing. On their double date, the “most adventurous, adrenaline-filled date in Bachelor history,” everyone has an amazing time speed-boating and zip-lining, except for “Raccoon Eyes,” who gets seasick, almost loses her contact lenses and has a disaster with runny mascara.
On a more romantic date, an eager suitor takes a cautious single mom to a Mexican town fair, where he tells her that he’s falling for her. He sees a glorious future together and, as they make out under a night sky lit by fireworks, hopes that she is beginning to see it too.
Since the women have the power at this week’s rose ceremony, the mascara-smeared writing should be on the wall for Raccoon Eyes’ date, but it is another single fellow who recognizes his diminishing chances of finding love in the waning days of Paradise, and decides to leave. Of course, he has someone special waiting for him at home.
Meanwhile, one mixed up dude is still grappling with a decision of a very different sort. When his pool buddy tells him that she would walk if he accepted a rose from her competitor, he decides that it’s time to end things with one of the bachelorettes, who doesn’t receive the news very well.
Seeking sympathy from a friend, who instead tells her the truth that she doesn’t want to hear, the dumped dame explodes and storms off to the bar, where everybody’s new favorite bartender asks her, “Why are you fighting for someone who’s not fighting for you?” After having the sense slapped into her, she now knows what she must do.
When it comes time to hand out the roses, one of the most shocking and dramatic conclusions in show history unfolds.
“Episode 404B” – Paradise may be coming to an end, but as tonight’s surprising and romantic episode airs on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 (8:00-9:01 p.m. EDT), it has already worked its magic. The couples that have endured the drama are so strong, latecomers to the party don’t seem to stand a chance of finding a partner for the last dance, as two wilted wallflowers discovered in last night’s episode.
But when the new arrival doubles her odds by liking both boys and girls, all bets are off. She does end up choosing a date of the opposite sex, but the woman in his life no longer feels like the bet she’s made on love is a safe one. And she may not be the only woman in danger.
Hopeful heartbreakers return to Paradise with their sites set unapologetically on other women’s men. This new bachelorette wants one man, who, it turns out, is on the verge of telling his emotionally intelligent partner that he is falling in love with her. So, instead, the bummed-out babe takes pity on a dating virgin, who is so excited to be asked out on his first date in Paradise that he accepts, even though he’s been getting cozy with an actual never-had-sex-before virgin.
Meanwhile, a more assertive lady takes a shot at her tantalizing target, even though he just dumped one girlfriend so that he could focus his attention on his other girlfriend. Although he says no, the shocked bachelorette senses that he’d like to say yes, so she approaches the girlfriend for permission. But when the testing tootsie leaves the decision up to the proven unreliable rascal, the persistent princess asks again, and is turned down again, leaving her no choice but to invite the only available man left in Paradise.
When one of the double-daters bails out so that he can spend the little time remaining with the woman he’s serious about, two women have had enough and storm out of Paradise, cursing the close-knit couples who caused their downfall.
The next morning, the cuddle-hungry couples are canoodling contentedly, when host Chris Harrison pays an unexpected visit to lay on them an even bigger surprise: “This is your last day in Paradise.”
Over the course of the season, we’ll follow these former bachelors and bachelorettes as they explore new relationships while living together in Mexico, in a secluded and dreamy paradise. America will watch as they fall in love or go through renewed heartbreak. “Bachelor in Paradise” will feature shocking twists, surprises, unexpected guests and some of the most unlikely relationships in “Bachelor” history. There’s no telling who will find love this season, just like Jade and Tanner did and their subsequent 2016 wedding.
Hosted by Chris Harrison, “Bachelor in Paradise” is produced by Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss, Martin Hilton, Nicole Woods and Elan Gale are executive producers. “Bachelor in Paradise” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format. (CLOSED CAPTIONED)
