FUSION TV is kicking off October with two brand-new series, airing back-to-back Thursday, October 5 at 10PM & 10:30PM. In the bold docu-series “Sex.Right.Now. with Cleo Stiller,” premiering at 10:00 PM, Fusion TV is pulling back the curtain on the ways we’re relating to our bodies, expressing our identities, and forging relationships. In each half hour episode, award-winning health correspondent Cleo Stiller seeks to answer deeply personal questions - without stigma or judgement - that tackle body confidence, sex and relationships, health, and identity. In the first episode, entitled “Love, Right Now,” Stiller explores new conversations about one of the oldest human impulses – coupling up – while investigating topical concerns, including why Millennials are seeing a rise in non-monogamy, the future of male birth control and the impact that smart devices have on relationships.
Then, at 10:30 PM, the wigs are coming off in “Shade: Queens of NYC,” a compelling docu-series that will move past the glam, glitz, and lip syncing and provide an intimate look inside the New York drag community. In the premiere episode, “It Takes a Village, Gurl,” Tina, Brita, Jada, Jasmine and Chelsea put together a new drag show, Gurlesque. Meanwhile Brita deals with some newfound health issues, and Marti juggles his new marriage with his growing political activism.
“Sex.Right.Now. with Cleo Stiller” – SERIES PREMIERE, Thursday, October 5th at 10:00PM
The seven-part original series will cover a variety of health and sex topics, ranging from what happens when you hook up men to a menstrual cramp simulator and why some of us are thinking about being single forever, to the way in which Instagram is fueling a new level of body confidence visibility, to what you learn by spending a day in an orgasm lab. In each half hour episode, award-winning health correspondent Cleo Stiller seeks to answer deeply personal questions - without stigma or judgement - that tackle body confidence, sex and relationships, health, and identity. “Sex.Right.Now. with Cleo Stiller” is a FUSION TV production that originated from a popular digital video series created by Stiller in 2015, “Asking for a Friend,” which explored the burning body, health, and sexuality questions people were too afraid to ask. The seven-part, half-hour series is executive produced by Mark Lima with Amy Gardner serving as series producer.
“Shade: Queens of NYC” – SERIES PREMIERE, Thursday, October 5th at 10:30PM
Shot in a vérité follow documentary format, this 12-part, half hour series reveals a side of drag life never before seen on television, examining the unspoken stigmas, taboos and personal sacrifices that drag performers often face on their journey to stardom. Each episode will showcase the day-to-day lives of each individual performer, on and off the stage. In addition, each week viewers will be treated to a spectacular musical number performed by the drag queens. While peeling back the drag personas and highlighting love, commitment, community, heartbreak, family and faith, “Shade” will explore what happens to New York’s fiercest drag queens as they vie for adoration, validation and compensation. Brita Filter, Chelsea Piers, Holly Box-Springs, Jada Valenciaga, Jasmine Rice LaBeija, Marti Gould Cummings, “Showbiz Spitfire” Paige Turner, and Tina Burner are among the talent featured.
The series is produced in conjunction with Cowboy Bear Ninja and is co-created by Mike Kelton. Kelton along with Cowboy Bear Ninja’s Michael Melamedoff and Rufus Lusk will serve as executive producers; Liz DeCesare of Authentic Management will also serve as an executive producer. Lisa Tucker will serve as showrunner. Marti Gould Cummings is also a consulting producer on the project.
