“Snatch” – 31st October at 10:00pm – Double Bill Premiere
Inspired by a real-life heist in London, the drama series “Snatch” is a reimagining of the Guy Ritchie movie of the same name. The drama centres on a group of twenty-something, up-and-coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high stakes world of organised crime. They must quickly learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London’s underworld as rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend.
“Snatch” stars Rupert Grint as the intelligent but chaotic Charlie Cavendish, Luke Pasqualino (“Skins,” “The Musketeers”) as the smart, aspirational Albert Hill, Dougray Scott (“Desperate Housewives,” My Week with Marilyn) as Vic Hill and Juliet Aubrey (Iris, “The White Queen”) as Lilly Hill, Albert’s criminal parents. Lucien Laviscount (“Scream Queens,” The Bye Bye Man) also stars as Billy Ayres, a wingman to Albert who is rough around the edges. Additionally, Marc Warren (“The Good Wife,” “Doctor Who,”) stars as crooked cop Bob Fink and Stephanie Leonidas (“Whitechapel,” Mirrormask) is the assertive Chloe Kohn, femme fatale in waiting. The series was created and executive produced by Alex De Rakoff (writer/director of Dead Man Running and The Calcium Kid).

The series was critically acclaimed when it recently premiered in the US.  Variety called it “a punchy adventurous show” and praised its “young and talented cast” and People magazine said that “the reboot preserves the flashy grittiness of the 2000 crime caper but with a new generation of hucksters.”

“Preacher” – 30th October at 9:00pm
Based on the popular cult comic book franchise of the same name, “Preacher” is a supernatural and darkly comedic drama that follows a Texas preacher named Jesse Custer who is inhabited by a mysterious entity called Genesis that gives him the power to make people do whatever he commands. Once this power attracts the attention of two mysterious angels, Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip, and an Irish vampire named Cassidy are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.

“Preacher” was developed for television by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (This is The End, Superbad, Neighbours) and showrunner Sam Catlin (“Breaking Bad”).  The series stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Joseph Gilgun (Pride, “This Is England”) as Cassidy and Ruth Negga (World War Z, Loving) as Tulip.

Reviewers heaped praise on the series when it premiered in the US with TV Line hailing it as “funny, sexy, offbeat-as-hell” and the Boston Herald concluding that “Preacher is a black comedy, a horror funhouse, a mild meditation on belief and a wicked good time. There’s nothing left to say but: Amen.”

Viewers can catch up on the first episode on 30th October at 9:00pm and see the linear TV premiere of the second episode at 10:00pm.
