The New Adventures of Batman: The Complete Series HOLY FLASHBACKS! Featuring the voices of Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin (reprising their roles from the hit live-action TV series), this animated version of the Caped Crusader and Boy Wonder originally produced by Filmation Associates is revered by generations of cartoon fans. With heroine Batgirl and zany sidekick Bat-Mite, these brave heroes match wits with clever criminals like Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, Mr. Freeze and the cosmis villain Zarbor. Using high-tech gadgets plus well-honed detective skills, the two teach their foes the same valuable lessons in every action-packed episode: crime doesn't pay in Gotham City. Swoop down upon this blast from the past. Those Batman segments from the third season - The Batman/Superman Hour - were aired separately later on as The Adventures of Batman, featuring the voices of Oulan Soule and the legendary Casey Kasem. However, in 1977, Filmation and DC Comics hit upon the idea of bringing back another pair of legendary voices, those of Adam West and Burt Ward, in a new animated production titled The New Adventures of Batman. It ran for 16 episodes (and were later that year re-run as part of The Batman/Tarzan Adventure Hour). That one-and-only season was released on DVD in 2007. Now UPDATE/CORRECTION: The Warner Archive has informed us that this is NOT going to be a manufacture on demand (MOD) release, but rather a traditionally-produced DVD set which will be available in stores from Warner Home Video. We've updated the above to reflect this information, and we regret any misunderstanding. They also said that they believe this new set is simply a repackage of the 2007 DVD releases, with no different content included (which is what we expected). |
