We reported in early September that The Master - The Complete Series, starring the legendary Lee Van Cleef, would be coming to both DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc soon from Kino Lorber. We didn't have a date for you at the time, but last week - just before the Thanksgiving break! - the studio posted on their Facebook page a schedule of titles for 2018. As you can see there, The Master - The Complete Series is currently planned for February 20th. It's not up for pre-order at Amazon yet, so that date may change, but it's good to write that in pencil on your calendars.
The schedule listing there also confirms the end-of-January date we reported for The Pink Panther Cartoon Collection, Volume 1: 1964-1966 on DVD and Blu-ray Disc, while telling fans to expect "Pink Panther Cartoons (Volumes 2-6)" to be released as well throughout 2018. They also show there that their previously-reported plans for The Outer Limits (original show) have been pushed back to 2018 (the first season was originally planned for late this year; we now expect it around February, March or April). The Martian Chronicles 1980 mini-series recently announced is listed there, too. Newly announced publicly on that list are Kino Lorber's plans in 2018 to release another "sidekick" cartoon to The Pink Panther Show, and it's another DePatie-Freleng production: Misterjaw!! Nice to know. Need more from DePatie-Freleng? Okay! Kino Lorber's list also includes the 1974 animated series The Dogfather (originally separate, but later part of the Pink Panther pack of cartoons). We'll have more individual news stories for each of the above in their own time, as KL announces specific release dates for each title. For now, the big news is the February 20th date for The Master - The Complete Series. Our thanks to longtime reader John Cerone for the heads-up about it! |
