Boy, the way Glenn Miller played. Songs that made the hit parade! Guys like us, we had it made. Those were the days.
And you knew who you were then! Girls were girls and men were men. Mister, we can use a man like Herbert Hoover again.
Didn't need no welfare state. Everybody pulled his weight. Gee, our old LaSalle ran great. Those were the daaaays!
Between 2002 and 2007, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released individual DVD sets for the first six seasons of
All In The Family. Then the final three seasons of the show's run came out as individual sets in 2010 and 2011 from Shout! Factory, with that studio also putting out a
Complete Series box set in 2012. That was an item that listed for $199.99 SRP, and - while technically still available from Shout! - that 28 DVD box set's distribution seems to be winding down (for example, it's only in stock at Amazon's USA and Canadian branches through third-party sellers).
Now Sony is stepping back in, and scheduling a new release of the show on
February 6th. It's just the first half of the sitcom's run, though, with the title of
All In The Family - Seasons 1-5. It's priced at $49.99 SRP for a 15-DVD set. It's bare-bones, though, with only episodes and none of the extras found on the
Complete Series set (which included the two unaired pilots for the show, for example). Closed captions are included, and the package art (front and back) is below. Our thanks to one of our longtime readers, "Brandon," for pointing it out to us!
