On this season of Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta, a tight-knit crew of friends will reveal the perks and perils of being born into Hip Hop royalty. But as they hustle for independent success, a toxic rivalry unfolds. Unforeseen danger marks Shad Moss aka Bow Wow’s return to ATL when he decides to release his first album in six years. Alongside Bow, battling to step out of their legendary parents’ shadows in one of the biggest hip hop capitals in the world is Shaniah Mauldin, daughter of Jermaine Dupri and sister figure to Bow, Reginae Carter, the daughter of Lil Wayne and Toya Wright, Zonnique Pullins, the daughter of hip hop power couple T.I. & Tiny, Brandon Barnes, the son of famed Hip Hop manager Debra Antney and brother to Hip Hop star Waka Flocka Flame, and Brandon’s cousin Ayana Fite, the daughter of The Beastie Boys mainstay, DJ Hurricane. Honey Boo Boo wants Mama June to enter a beauty pageant but June is focused on her new mystery man! Sugar Bear and Jennifer scheme to get more time with Alana and they’ll do anything to get it!
About Mama June: From Not to Hot
This season takes June’s transformation even further as she strives to compete with the “mean girls” of the pageant circuit and become the Queen she’s always wanted to be. However, as she loses herself in the quest for the crown, Alana (aka “Honey Boo Boo”) Thompson gets lost in the shuffle and runs into the arms of Sugar Bear and Jennifer for attention. This reignites the rivalry between June, Sugar Bear and Jennifer which only intensifies during Sugar Bear’s pursuit for increased visitation with Alana, and Jennifer’s growing suspicions that Alana might not be Sugar Bear’s biological child. Meanwhile, June’s daughter Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon’s unexpected pregnancy forces her and boyfriend Josh to grow up and take on adult responsibilities but that doesn’t stop June and Pumpkin from butting heads as less than mature Josh moves in. June soon realizes that her weight was the least of her problems as she now faces decisions that could potentially tear her family apart.

Ex-Marine James hasn’t told his family about Alla’s prison past, and his friend fears her drug use will resume after release and wreak havoc. Single father Scott falls hard for bombshell convict and self-proclaimed hustler, Lizzie. Is their love for real, or just a con?
