WGN America’s newest political-crime drama, “Shoot the Messenger,” premieres on Monday February 26, 2018 at 10:00 p.m. ET / 9:00 p.m. CT. The one-hour serialized thriller centers on the complex relationships between crime reporters and the police, and follows Daisy Channing (Elyse Levesque), a young reporter trying to balance a messy personal life with a burgeoning career. Things go sideways when Daisy tracks a story about a gang-related murder, only to discover an interconnected web of criminal activity that reaches into the corridors of corporate and political power. It’s the kind of story that makes careers and destroys lives, including those of her own family. A cover-up so scandalous it could bring down the government.

The eight-part series event stars Elyse Levesque (“Orphan Black,” “Stargate Universe”), as Daisy Channing; Lyriq Bent (“She’s Gotta Have It”) as lead homicide detective Kevin Lutz; Alex Kingston (“Doctor Who”) as Daisy’s editor Mary Foster; and Lucas Bryant (“Haven”) as her co-worker Simon Olenski. Also joining the cast are Hannah Anderson (“Jigsaw”) as Chloe Channing, Daisy’s sister; Ari Cohen (“It”) as Attorney General Sam Charles; Edie Inksetter (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) as detective Jordana ‘Jo’ Ortiz; Araya Mengesha (“Rogue”) as Hassan Ali; Shadia Ali (“Beauty and the Beast”) as Xannan Suleman; and Maurice Dean Wint (“Haven”) as Chief of Staff for the Attorney General, Phil Hardcastle.

“Shoot the Messenger” is produced by Jennifer Holness and Victoria Woods for Hungry Eyes Film & Television Inc. in association with CBC Television and ITV Studios Global Entertainment. The eight-episode series is co-created by Jennifer Holness and Sudz Sutherland who also serves as lead director on the series.
