MERLIN (1998) - In a time long past, when magic was fading from the world of men, the malevolent sorceress Mab (Miranda Richardson) summoned forth a mighty wizard to keep the power of the Old Ways alive. The wizard's name was Merlin (Sam Neill). But when his heart is touched by the love of the beautiful Nimue (Isabella Rossellini), Merlin turns away from Mab's dark enchantments. The original 1998 mini-series Merlin, starring Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, The Hunt for Red October, The Piano, Omen III: The Final Conflict, Reilly: Ace of Spies, The Tudors, Peaky Blinders), has been released on DVD several times before: first in 1998, then again in 2004, and most recently just last year, in 2017. But now Mill Creek Entertainment has a new trick up their sleeves! Merlin - The 3 Film Collection, takes the original 1998 mini-series and collects it with both sequels: the 2000 telefilm Merlin: The Return starring Rik Mayall (The Young Ones, Bottom, Watership Down, Black Adder) in the title role, and the 2006 mini-series Merlin's Apprentice (a.k.a. The Search for the Holy Grail), with Neill returning to the title role, and Miranda Richardson (the Harry Potter films) returning from the first mini-series as well.
