CBS NEWS HONORED WITH TWO 2018 NEW YORK PRESS CLUB AWARDS FOR JOURNALISM
CBS News has been presented with two 2018 New York Press Club Awards for Journalism. The annual awards honor excellence by writers, reporters, editors, producers, photographers and multi-media journalists in 29 categories.
48 HOURS and CBS News were honored in the Special Events Reporting category “A Nation Divided,” a Peter Van Sant report examining the impact on children and families of the sometimes harsh and divisive rhetoric of the 2016 presidential campaign. The story was featured in CBS News’ primetime special “Change and Challenge: The Inauguration of Donald Trump.”
CBS News was also honored in the Spot News category for the news division’s extensive, multi-platform, multi-broadcast coverage of the Las Vegas concert mass shooting.
Winners of 80 awards in 29 categories were selected from nearly 500 entries. Awards were presented at the New York Press Club’s annual dinner, June 4, in New York City.
