JILL WAGNER AND KRISTOFFER POLAHA STAR IN THE TROPICAL ADVENTURE ‘PEARL IN PARADISE’ PREMIERING AUGUST 18, ON HALLMARK CHANNEL
Part of the Network’s “Summer Nights” Programming Event
STUDIO CITY, CA – June 27, 2018 – Jill Wagner (“Teen Wolf,” “Karen Kingsbury’s Maggie’s Christmas Miracle”) and Kristoffer Polaha (“Rocky Mountain Christmas,” “Condor,” “Ballers”) star in “Pearl in Paradise,” a new, original movie premiering Saturday, August 18 (9 p.m. ET/PT) on Hallmark Channel. Shot on location in Fiji, the movie is part of the network’s “Summer Nights” programming event celebrating the sun-drenched days of leisure and love. Magazine photographer Alex Anderson (Wagner) and author Colin Page (Polaha) head to Fiji in search of the illusive blue pearl that Colin wrote about in his bestselling novel Pearl in Paradise. Alex stands to land the creative director position if she can photograph the pearl for the magazine’s 30th anniversary issue, and Colin hopes that by writing a guest article about the long-lost gem he can boost sales of his failing other books and not lose his publisher. While trekking through the bush, the two reveal their vulnerabilities and wind up discussing why each is still single; Alex admitting it’s because she’s always traveling after the next great photo, and Colin admitting that every woman expects him to be Blake Montoya, the swashbuckling hero of his novels. He also confesses that he lied in the forward of his book when he claimed to be the only person to have seen the pearl, when in fact he’d never been to Fiji before now. While upset at first, Alex finally concedes that even if she’d known before the trip, she’d have still asked Colin to help her find the rare pearl, and as the two head off to continue their search, neither is aware yet that finding love could be the rarest adventure of all.
“Pearl in Paradise” a production from The MRG Production Company and Cartel Pictures. Michael R. Goldstein, Stan Spry and Eric Woods are executive producers. Scott Cohen and Anthony Fankhauser are co-executive producers. Gary B. Yates directed from a screenplay by Christine Conradt.
