ABC’s “The View” averaged 2.697 million Total Viewers, 423,000 Women 25-54 and 279,000 Women 18-49 during the week of July 23, 2018, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “The View” beat CBS’ “The Talk” (2.294 million, 366,000 and 262,000, respectively) across the board: Total Viewers (403,000), Women 25-54 (57,000) and Women 18-49 (17,000). In addition, “The Viewer” increased its Total Viewer lead over “The Talk” both week to week (+11%; vs. 362,000 for w/o 7/16/18) and year to year (+58%; vs. 255,000 for w/o 7/24/17).
For the 3rd straight week, “The View” was up over the previous week (w/o 7/16/18) in Total Viewers (+1% – 2.697 million vs. 2.663 million).
“The View” improved on the year-ago week (w/o 7/24/17) in Total Viewers (+2% – 2.697 million vs. 2.644 million).
Season to date, “The View” is posting gains compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers (+2% – 2.860 million vs. 2.816 million), marking its most-watched season in 4 years – since the 2013-2014 season.
In addition, “The View” leads CBS’ “The Talk” and is increasing its advantages from the same point last season in Total Viewers (348,000 vs. 182,000), Women 25-54 (80,000 vs. 55,000) and Women 18-49 (54,000 vs. 53,000). In fact, “The View” is posting its largest season leads over the CBS program in both measures in 5 years – since the 2012-2013 season.

ABC News’ “Nightline” averaged 1.070 million Total Viewers, 369,000 Adults 25-54 and 278,000 Adults 18-49 during the week of July 23, 2018, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” led CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (313,000 and 243,000, respectively) in Adults 25-54 (+56,000) and Adults 18-49 (+35,000).
“Nightline” improved on the previous week (w/o 7/16/18) in Adults 18-49 (+4% – 278,000 vs. 267,000).
“Nightline” narrowed its week-to-week margins with NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in all key target demos: Total Viewers (-61% – 45,000 vs. 114,000), Adults 25-54 (-25% – 80,000 vs. 107,000) and Adults 18-49 (-70% – 27,000 vs. 89,000).
“Nightline” cut its gaps with NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” from the year-ago week in Total Viewers (-72% – 45,000 vs. 159,000) and Adults 18-49 (-70% – 27,000 vs. 89,000).
Season to date, “Nightline” is beating CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in Adults 25-54 (+30,000 – 497,000 vs. 467,000) and Adults 18-49 (+30,000 – 376,000 vs. 346,000).
Stories on “Nightline” last week included the journey of Rob Martin, who was diagnosed with leukemia and in need of a bone marrow transplant, as he searched for and met his birth mother for the first time; coverage of why police say they won’t press charges in the fatal Florida “Stand Your Ground” shooting; a trip to the first national convention hosted by Better Angels, a group trying to bridge the growing partisan divide and depolarize America; interviews with women who spoke out on accusing an ex-USC doctor of sexual misconduct, which he denies; and tips from shark experts on how to avoid a deadly encounter with sharks.

Fueled by “The Bachelorette” and “The Proposal,” ABC beat its nearest broadcast competition (NBC) by 4% in Total Viewers (5.3 million vs. 5.1 million) and by 30% in Adults 18-49 (1.3/6 vs. 1.0/4) to lead Monday for the 5th week in a row. In both viewers and young adults, the Network rose to Monday summer highs.
Fueled by “The Bachelorette” and “The Proposal,” ABC beat its nearest broadcast competition (NBC) by 4% in Total Viewers (5.3 million vs. 5.1 million) and by 30% in Adults 18-49 (1.3/6 vs. 1.0/4) to lead Monday for the 5th week in a row. In both viewers and young adults, the Network rose to Monday summer highs.
- Airing from 8:00-10:00 p.m., ABC’s “The Bachelorette” stood as Monday’s No. 1 show in Total Viewers (6.3 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.5/7), marking its 8th consecutive week as the night’s top-rated TV series with young adults. Head-to-head in the 2-hour slot, the ABC unscripted series dominated NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” (5.2 million vs. 1.1/5) by 1.1 million viewers and by 36% in Adults 18-49. “The Bachelorette” built for the 2nd straight week in Total Viewers (+11%) and Adults 18-49 (+7%) to post its most-watched telecast this season and its 2nd highest young adult number.
- At 10:00 p.m., ABC’s “The Proposal” gained week to week in Total Viewers (+3% – 3.5 million vs. 3.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (+14% – 0.8/3 vs. 0.7/3), hitting 3-week highs – since 6/25/18.

ABC’s “The View” averaged 2.582 million Total Viewers, 418,000 Women 25-54 and 282,000 Women 18-49 during the week of July 9, 2018, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “The View” beat CBS’ “The Talk” (2.311 million, 350,000 and 246,000, respectively) in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+271,000), Women 25-54 (+68,000) and Women 18-49 (+36,000). In addition, “The View” increased its leads from the same week last year (w/o 7/10/18) in Total Viewers (+38%; vs. +196,000) and Women 25-54 (+55%; vs. 44,000).
“The View” was up week to week (1.907 million, 309,000 and 222,000, respectively, for w/o 7/2/18) in Total Viewers (+35%), Women 25-54 (+35%) and Women 18-49 (+27%).
Season to date, “The View” is posting gains compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers (+1% – 2.863 million vs. 2.823 million), marking its most-watched season in 4 years – since the 2013-2014 season.
In addition, “The View” leads CBS’ “The Talk” and is increasing its advantages from the same point last season in Total Viewers (342,000 vs. 180,000) and Women 25-54 (80,000 vs. 56,000). In fact, “The View” is posting its largest season leads over the CBS program in both measures in 5 years – since the 2012-2013 season.

ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.198 million), Adults 25-54 (438,000) and Adults 18-49 (332,000) during the week of July 9, 2018, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.
“Nightline” improved on the previous week (1.127 million, 394,000 and 293,000, respectively, for w/o 7/2/18) in Total Viewers (+6%), Adults 25-54 (+11%) and Adults 18-49 (+13%).
Season to date, “Nightline” is beating CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in Adults 25-54 (+31,000 – 503,000 vs. 472,000) and Adults 18-49 (+32,000 – 381,000 vs. 349,000).
Stories on “Nightline” last week included multiple reports from Thailand detailing the rescue efforts and recovery of 12 boys and their soccer coach who were trapped in Thailand’s longest cave; interviews with bulletproof clothing and accessory designers who see untapped potential in the U.S. market; a behind-the-scenes look at Britain’s latest obsession, the reality TV show “Love Island”; and an interview with the cast of “Skyscraper,” who discussed the experience of filming the thrilling story set in Hong Kong.

ABC’s “The View” averaged 2.744 million Total Viewers, 442,000 Women 25-54 and 310,000 Women 18-49 during the week of June 25, 2018, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “The View” beat CBS’ “The Talk” (2.335 million, 381,000 and 250,000, respectively) in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+409,000), Women 25-54 (+61,000) and Women 18-49 (+60,000). In addition, “The View” increased its Total Viewers lead from the previous week (+7%; vs. +381,000) to its largest in 8 weeks – since w/o 4/30/18. Further, “The View” more than doubled its lead over “The Talk” year to year (+110%; vs. 195,000 for w/o 6/26/17).
“The View” was up week to week in Total Viewers (+1% – 2.744 million vs. 2.729 million) and Women 18-49 (+5% – 310,000 vs. 294,000), hitting 4-week highs in both measures – since w/o 5/28/18.
For the 2nd week in a row, “The View” improved year to year (w/o 6/26/17) in Total Viewers (+10% – 2.744 million vs. 2.502 million) and Women 25-54 (+1% – 442,000 vs. 438,000).

In addition, “The View” leads CBS’ “The Talk” across the board, increasing its advantages from the same point last season in Total Viewers (357,000 vs. 184,000), Women 25-54 (84,000 vs. 57,000) and Women 18-49 (56,000 vs. 55,000). In fact, “The View” is posting its largest season leads over the CBS program in Total Viewers and Women 25-54 in 5 years – since the 2012-2013 season.

ABC’s “The View” delivered 2.743 million Total Viewers, 447,000 Women 25-54 and 306,000 Women 18-49 during the 2nd Quarter 2018, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “The View” led CBS’ “The Talk” (2.385 million, 401,000 and 275,000, respectively) during the quarter in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+358,000), Women 25-54 (+46,000) and Women 18-49 (+31,000).
In addition, “The View” widened its margins over the CBS program the same quarter last year in Total Viewers (+88% – 358,000 vs. 190,000), turning in its largest 2Q advantage in 4 years – since 2Q14.
For the 2nd quarter in a row, “The View” improved on the year-ago quarter in Total Viewers (+2% – 2.743 million vs. 2.700 million for 2Q17).

ABC News’ “Nightline” drew 1.304 million Total Viewers, 474,000 Adults 25-54 and 361,000 Adults 18-49, during the 2nd Quarter 2018, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” led CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (426,000 and 313,000, respectively), during the quarter in Adults 25-54 (+48,000) and Adults 18-49 (+48,000).
“Nightline” increased its lead over CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” from the year-ago quarter in Adults 18-49 (+50% – 48,000 vs. 32,000 for 2Q17).
“Nightline” narrowed its margins versus the previous quarter (1Q18) with NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in Total Viewers (-25% – 139,000 vs. -189,000), Adults 25-54 (-38% – 82,000 vs. 132,000) and Adults 18-49 (-52% – 54,000 vs. 113,000), with its closest Adults 18-49 performance with the NBC program in 2 years – since 2Q16.
Week of June 25, 2018:
ABC News’ “Nightline” averaged 1.174 million Total Viewers, 436,000 Adults 25-54 and 329,000 Adults 18-49 during the week of June 25, 2018, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” led CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden-JC-ENC” (1.120 million, 341,000 and 251,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+54,000), Adults 25-54 (+95,000) and Adults 18-49 (+78,000).
“Nightline” improved on the previous week (1.131 million, 378,000 and 289,000, respectively, for w/o 6/18/18) in Total Viewers (+4%), Adults 25-54 (+15%) and Adults 18-49 (+14%).
“Nightline” slashed its week-to-week margins with NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” by more than half in Adults 25-54 (-57% – 51,000 vs. 119,000) and Adults 18-49 (-62% – 32,000 vs. 85,000).
“Nightline” cut its gaps with NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” from the same week last year in Adults 25-54 (-30% – 51,000 vs. 73,000) and Adults 18-49 (-62% – 32,000 vs. 84,000).
Season to date, “Nightline” is beating CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” across the board: Total Viewers (+1,000 – 1.382 million vs. 1.381 million), Adults 25-54 (+35,000 – 506,000 vs. 471,000) and Adults 18-49 (+35,000 – 384,000 vs. 349,000).

With its lineup of “The Bachelorette” and “The Proposal,” ABC took 1st place on Monday in both Total Viewers (4.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.1/5) for the 3rd week running.

- In the 10 o’clock hour, ABC’s “The Proposal” ranked No. 1 with Adults 18-49 (0.7/3-tie), beating CBS’ first-run “Elementary” in the slot by 75% (0.4/2). In addition, the new ABC unscripted series won the hour in Adults 18-34 and across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).
