UNCOVER THE TRUTH IN SMITHSONIAN CHANNEL’S
“THE REAL STORY: THE DA VINCI CODE”
Available on DVD October 9 from Public Media Distribution LLC

Arlington, Va. – August XX, 2018 – Public Media Distribution, LLC. announces the release of Smithsonian Channel’s “THE REAL STORY: THE DA VINCI CODE” on DVD October 9. The program investigates Ron Howard’s controversial 2003 box office hit and reveals that it was based on more real organizations and events than previously thought.  The Da Vinci Code film follows Harvard professor Robert Langdon’s attempt to solve a series of puzzles and codes left behind by the great Renaissance artist, Leonardo da Vinci, to find the true nature and final resting place of the Holy Grail. This program meets with leading theologians, da Vinci experts, art restorers and Coptic scholars to examine the film’s assertions. Did Jesus have a sexual relationship with Mary Magdalene? Does da Vinci’s The Last Supper painting contain intentional coded references to Mary Magdalene? Is the film’s cryptex a real da Vinci invention? What is the truth behind da Vinci’s mirror writing? THE REAL STORY explores these questions and travels to the ancient Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland to analyze the function of the cryptic messages and hidden chambers that exist there.
Smithsonian Channel’s “THE REAL STORY: THE DA VINCI CODE” will be available on DVD ($24.99 SRP) October 9, 2018. The program has a run time of approximately 46 minutes.
