STUDIO CITY, CA – Lindy Booth (“Under the Autumn Moon,” “The Librarians,”
Kick - Ass 2 ) and Trevor Donovan (“Marry Me at Christmas,” “Runaway Romance,” “Texas Rising”) star in “SnowComing,” a new original movie premiering Saturday, January 26, (8 p.m. ET/PT) on Hallmark Channel. Starring alongside Booth and Donovan is NFL legend, former Washington Redskins star quarterback, Joe Theismann (“Love on the Sidelines”) and former Minnesota Vikings running back Ed Marinaro (“Hill Street Blues,” “Sisters”). The film is part of the network’s popular, annual “Winterfest” programming event.
Samantha (Booth) works on cookbooks, but her passion is Young Adult literacy. Frustrated, she calls an old friend, who convinces her to come home for SnowComing. Still hurt because her high school sweetheart Jake (Donovan) stood her up, Samantha agrees to attend for her dad, the Coach (Marinaro), who’s retiring and being honored. But Jake, now a famous pro quarterback, is also home to honor his coach. Although awkward at first, he and Samantha return to their easy banter and soon it’s clear they haven’t lost their chemistry. But Samantha remains cautious and the next day, trying to avoid Jake, she goes to the library, which is badly in need of updating. Urging her to do something about it, Jake admits he’s tired of his fame and is considering a new path. Taking a cue from the coach, Jake and Samantha think they, too, might be able to begin anew and there’s no better way than with a “Tailgate at the Library” fundraiser, where Jake can use his celebrity to draw patrons. Telling his agent (Theismann) he’s done endorsing products, Jake must now dodge an interfering reporter who goes to Samantha for gossip and gives her upsetting news, leaving her to think she may have to close the book on Jake forever.
