CBS KEEPS WINNING,
WAS MOST-WATCHED NETWORK AGAIN THIS WEEK
“NCAA MEN’S BASKETBALL FINAL FOUR,” “THE BIG BANG THEORY,” “NCIS,” “FBI,” “SURVIVOR” AND FRIDAY DRAMAS HELP NETWORK TO TAKE WEEK
“THE BIG BANG THEORY” WAS WEEK’S #1 ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM
CBS
was once again the most-watched network during week 28 of the 2018-2019
broadcast season according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for
the week ending April 7. CBS has now been #1 in viewers for 11 of the past 12 weeks.
For week 28, CBS had an average of 8.63 million weekly viewers, beating
NBC (4.57m), ABC (4.07m) and FOX (2.47m). Season-to-date, CBS is first
with 9.13 million viewers, and NBC is second (7.53m), followed by FOX
(5.79m) and ABC (5.65m). The Network was #1 in viewers on five nights –
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
CBS also took the week in adults 25-54 (2.0) and adults 18-49 (1.4).
Season-to-date, the Network is out of first place by only -0.1 in adults
25-54 (2.2) and adults 18-49 (1.6).
On Monday, BULL was first in viewers (6.78m) and compared to the last
first-run episode on March 18, BULL added +370,000 viewers (from 6.41m,
+6%).
On Tuesday night, CBS was tops again in viewers (9.39m) as NCIS was
first in viewers (11.89m) and adults 25-54 (1.8/07) and second in adults
18-49 (1.1/05, -0.1 behind NBC). NCIS was the night’s most-watched
program. At 9:00 PM, FBI was also first in viewers (9.08m) and was the
night’s most-watched new program. Rounding out Tuesday, NCIS: NEW
ORLEANS was first in viewers (7.19m), adults 25-54 (1.2/05) and adults
18-49 (0.8/04).
On Wednesday, SURVIVOR was the night’s #1 program in key demos for the
fifth consecutive week (adults 25-54 - 2.1/08 and adults 18-49 -
1.5/08).
On Thursday, CBS was first in viewers (7.46m), adults 25-54 (1.8/07)
and adults 18-49 (1.1/05). THE BIG BANG THEORY was the week’s
most-watched series with 12.22 million viewers. The comedy also took
Thursday in adults 25-54 (3.2/13) and adults 18-49 (2.0/10). YOUNG
SHELDON was #1 in its time period in viewers (10.50m), adults 25-54
(2.5/09) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (1.5/07). MOM at 9:00 PM was
also first in viewers (7.61m), adults 25-54 (1.9/07) and adults 18-49
(1.1/05).
FAM at 9:30 PM was second in viewers (4.79m) and compared to the last
first-run episode on March 14, the comedy added +230,000 viewers (from
4.56m, +5%). Rounding out Thursday, S.W.A.T. was the leader at 10:00 PM
in viewers (4.73m).
On
Friday night, CBS was first in viewers (6.77m), adults 25-54 (1.1/05)
and adults 18-49 (0.7/04). CBS was first in viewers for the 26th
time in 28 Fridays. MACGYVER was #1 in viewers (5.57m), adults 25-54
(1.0/04) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (0.6/03). HAWAII FIVE-0 was
tops in its time period in viewers (6.84m), adults 25-54 (1.2/04) and
adults 18-49 (0.8/04). At 10:00 PM, BLUE BLOODS led the night in viewers
(7.90m) and was first in its time period in adults 25-54 (1.2/05) and
adults 18-49 (0.8/04).
On
Saturday, basketball ruled as CBS won the night in viewers (15.74m),
adults 25-54 (4.8/19) and adults 18-49 (3.9/20) while posting its best
Saturday deliveries in these measures since Jan. 13, 2018 (AFC
Divisional Playoffs, Tennessee vs. New England). From 8:00-8:27 PM, the
primetime run over of CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY GAME ONE posted a 10.4/23 with 18.20 million viewers. THE CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP BRIDGE SHOW from 8:21-8:48 PM delivered 13.77 million viewers, 4.2/18 in adults 25-54 and 3.5/19 in adults 18-49, while CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY GAME TWO from 8:48-11:13 PM posted 15.84 million viewers 4.8/19 in adults 25-54 and 4.0/20 in adults 18-49.
On Sunday night, CBS was again first in viewers (9.82m), adults 25-54 (2.1/08) and adults 18-49 (1.4/07). 60 MINUTES was first in viewers (9.51m), adults 25-54 (1.4/06) and adults 18-49 (0.9/05). From 8:00 to 11:00 PM, THE 54th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS was first in viewers (9.92m), adults 25-54 (2.3/08) and adults 18-49 (1.6/07). THE 54th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS was the night’s #1 program in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

“QUEER EYE” LOVES THE WINNING GUY BECAUSE “THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT” IS STILL #1 IN LATE NIGHT BY A HUGE MARGIN
Last week (week #28 of the 2018-2019 broadcast season), THE LATE SHOW
with STEPHEN COLBERT delivered 3.51 million viewers, 0.7 in adults 25-54
and 0.5 in adults 18-49, according to Nielsen live plus 3-day ratings.
THE LATE SHOW has delivered more than 3.5 million weekly viewers with
3-day lift every first-run week this season.
With 3-day lift, THE LATE SHOW improved its advantage over “Tonight” to
+1.24 million viewers after leading by +820,000 with same-day viewers.
THE LATE SHOW also remained tied with “Tonight” in adults 18-49 (0.5,
each).
Season-to-date, THE LATE SHOW (3.80m) leads “The Tonight Show” (2.46m)
and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (2.08m) by more than +1.3 million viewers, and
is tied with “The Tonight Show” in adults 25-54 (0.8/04) and adults
18-49 (0.5/04). THE LATE SHOW continues to lead “Tonight” in adults
18-49 audience (681k versus 676k).
