NEW YORK — April 30, 2019 — “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has finished first for the late-night ratings week of April 22-26 in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures versus encore episodes of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.
For the week, “Tonight” averaged a 0.45 rating in adults 18-49 and 2.314 million viewers overall, hitting eight-week highs, “Tonight’s” best results since the week of Feb. 25-March 1 (0.51 in 18-49, 2.563 million viewers), the week “The Voice” premiered its 16th cycle.
Last week at 12:35 a.m. ET, encore telecasts of “Late Night with Seth Meyers” ranked #1 versus rebroadcasts of “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and “Nightline” originals in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and all other key measures.

Season to date, Meyers also leads both “Late Late Show” and ABC’s “Nightline” in “most current” averages in every key ratings category.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — April 30, 2019 — NBC has tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks in primetime results for the week of April 22-28 in the key demographic of adults 18-49, according to “live plus same day” viewership figures from Nielsen Media Research.

NBC also tied for the weeklong win in adults 25-54 and led the week outright in all key adult-female demos. Excluding sports, NBC won the week outright in adults 18-49.

Ranking among the top 15 primetime programs on the Big 4 networks last week in the key demographic of adults 18-49 were Monday’s “The Voice” (tied for #5) and all three Wednesday “Chicago” dramas, “Chicago Fire” (tied for #7), “Chicago Med” (tied for #11) and “Chicago P.D.” (tied for #11). 

Season to date, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 (tie) and all key adult-female demographics. In total viewers, excluding sports, NBC is running within 1.471 million persons of #1 CBS, NBC’s closest position to #1 in total viewers at this point in the season, excluding sports, in 16 years, since trailing by 720,000 persons at this time in 2002-03.

“The Voice” (1.2 rating in 18-49, 7.6 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) wins the timeslot among the Big 4 networks over a “Meet Your Finalists” episode of “American Idol” by margins of +33% in 18-49 (1.2 vs. 0.9) and +2.2 million viewers overall (7.6 million vs. 5.4 million). “Voice” tied as the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 in adults 18-49 and was #1 outright in adults 25-54 and total viewers.
“Live Plus 35 Day Plus Digital” Ratings: Monday’s “The Voice” has grown by +73% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.74 to a 3.01).
“The Enemy Within” (0.6 rating in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the hour among the ABC, CBS and NBC dramas in adults, men and women 18-49 and adults, men and women 25-54, retaining 100% week to week in 18-49 (0.6 vs. 0.6) and 25-54 (0.9 vs. 0.9) and growing in total viewers (3.910 million vs. 3.892 million). Tuesday
NBC won the night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, as well as adults 25-54 and other key demos.
“The Village” (0.6 rating in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET), despite switching timeslots to the 8 p.m. hour, maintained 100% week to week in 18-49 (0.6 vs. 0.6 at 9 p.m.) and increased by +8% in total viewers (4.1 million vs. 3.8 million) to rank #2 in the timeslot in total viewers. L+3: The prior week’s “The Village” grew by +33% in 18-49 going from L+SD Nielsens to L+3 (0.6 to 0.8) and +1.5 million persons in total viewers (3.8 million to 5.3 million). L+7: “The Village” has increased by +58% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 0.73 to a 1.15) and +2.3 million viewers overall (4.3 million to 6.6 million).
“The Voice” (0.9 rating in 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) scored as the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 in adults 18-49, as well as adults 25-54, adults 18-34 (tie) and all key adult-female demographics. “The Voice” built on its lead-in by +50% in 18-49 and by +54% in total viewers. “New Amsterdam” (0.8 rating in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) jumped +33% week to week in 18-49 (0.8 vs. 0.6) and +16% in total viewers (5.2 million vs. 4.5 million) to win the timeslot among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and all key adult-female demographics. “New Amsterdam” tied as the #2 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in 18-49 behind only “The Voice.” L+7: “New Amsterdam” has grown by +108% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.15 to a 2.39) and +5.3 million viewers overall (6.2 million to 11.5 million) going from L+SD to L+7. The gain of +5.301 million viewers is the #4 biggest L+7 lift on television so far this season. L+35+Digital: “New Amsterdam” has grown by +241% in the 18-49 demo going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.15 to a 3.92).

Wednesday
NBC won the night among the Big 4 network in adults 18-49 and total viewers, with “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago Med” scoring as the #1-2 shows of the night in total viewers. NBC’s Wednesday schedule of “Chicago” dramas has ranked as the #1 regular lineup in total viewers on 18 of the 19 Wednesdays it’s aired so far this season.
“Chicago Med” (1.0 rating in 18-49, 7.9 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) ranked as the #2 most-watched show of the night on the Big 4 networks, behind only “Chicago Fire,” and won the timeslot over such competition as “Survivor” and “Empire.” With its first original in three weeks, “Med” retained 100% versus its prior first-run in 18-49 (1.0 vs. 1.0 on April 3) and 99% in total viewers (7.9 million vs. 8.0 million). L+35+Digital: “Med” is growing by +115% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.24 to a 2.67).
“Chicago Fire” (1.1 rating in 18-49, 8.1 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET): finished as the #1 show of the night in total viewers and tied with “Empire” as the #2 show on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49. “Fire” won the timeslot among those nets in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers over Week 2 of CBS’ “Amazing Race.” With its first original telecast since April 3, “Fire” retained 100% in 18-49 (1.1 vs. 1.1 on April 3) and 98% in total viewers (8.106 million vs. 8.243 million). L+35+Digital: “Fire” is increasing by +135% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.24 to a 2.91).
“Chicago P.D.” (1.0 rating in 18-49, 7.0 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the timeslot among the ABC, CBS and NBC dramas in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers, delivering +43% margin in adults 18-49 (1.0 vs. 0.7 for CBS’ second-place “SEAL Team”) and topping the combined audience of the ABC-CBS dramas (7.0 million persons vs. a combined 6.4 million for “SEAL Team” and ABC’s “Whiskey Cavalier”). Thursday
“Superstore” (0.7 rating in 18-49, 3.0 million viewers overall from 8-8:30 p.m. ET) retained 97% week to week in total viewers (2.953 million vs. 3.040 million). Versus the same night last year, “Superstore” maintained +100% in 18-49 (0.7 vs. 0.7 on April 26, 2018) and was up +4% in total viewers (3.0 million vs. 2.9 million). L+35+Digital: “Superstore” generates 44% of its L+35+digital 18-49 rating from nonlinear sources, the #3 biggest percentage on the NBC schedule, behind only “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “A.P. Bio.”
“A.P. Bio” (0.4 rating in 18-49, 1.7 million viewers overall from 8:30-9 p.m. ET) maintained 100% week to week in men 18-49, women 18-49, adults 18-34 and men 18-34, and grew week to week in women 18-34. L+35+Digital: “A.P. Bio” generates 47% of its L+35+digital 18-49 rating from nonlinear sources, the #2 biggest percentage on the NBC schedule, behind only “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”

“Law & Order: SVU” (0.7 rating in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) retained 100% versus its most recent original in adults 18-49 (0.7 vs. 0.7 on April 11). L+35+Digital: “SVU” is growing by +267% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 0.87 to a 3.19).

Friday
NBC tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks Friday night in adults 18-49.
A special 8 p.m. telecast of “The Blacklist” (0.6 rating in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) matched the show’s season high for a Friday telecast in adults 18-49 and equaled NBC’s highest 18-49 rating in the timeslot since Nov. 23, 2018 (0.8 with holiday specials). The 8 p.m. “Blacklist” tied for #1 in the timeslot among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49.
The regular 9 p.m. episode of “The Blacklist” (0.5 rating in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) tied for #1 in the timeslot among Big 4 programs in adults 18-34 and women 18-34. L+35+Digital: “Blacklist” is increasing by +204% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 0.55 to a 1.67).
“Dateline NBC” (0.6 rating in 18-49, 0.9 in adults 25-54, 4.0 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) ranked #2 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers, retaining 98% week to week in total viewers (4.0 million vs. 4.1 million, which was a Friday high since Dec. 14, 2018). L+7: Friday’s “Dateline” is growing by +50% this season in 18-49 rating (from a 0.58 to a 0.87) and more than +1.2 million viewers overall (3.4 million to 4.6 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

Saturday
NBC Sports’ 8:08-12:11 p.m. ET coverage of Stanley Cup Playoff hockey, featuring a double-overtime game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Boston Bruins (0.8 rating in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall) won the night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 and was #1 or tied for #1 among those nets in every key ratings measure. The 2.913 million viewers in Total Audience Delivery (including digital viewership) is the most ever for a Round 2, Game 2 game on NBC or NBCSN and is up +30% versus the comparable year-ago game.

Sunday
An encore telecast of “Ellen’s Game of Games” averaged a 0.5 rating in 18-49 and 2.4 million viewers overall from 7-8 p.m. ET.
“World of Dance” (0.8 rating in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) scored a five-week high in 18-49, with its highest rating since March 24 (0.8) -- the last time “World” topped this week’s 0.8 was on March 3 (1.0). The April 28 “World” also delivered a six-week high in total viewers, with its biggest audience since March 17 (3.7 million). The April 28 telecast grew +14% week to week in 18-49 (0.8 vs. 0.7) and +16% in total viewers (3.4 million vs. 2.9 million). L+7+Digital: “World Dance” generates 22% of its L+35+digital 18-49 rating from nonlinear sources, the #1 biggest percentage among NBC alternative series.
“Good Girls” (0.6 rating in 18-49, 2.3 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) equaled the show’s highest 18-49 rating since its season premiere on March 3 (0.7). Week to week, the show grew +0.1 of a point or +20% in 18-49 (0.6 vs. 0.5) and +10% in total viewers (2.3 million vs. 2.1 million). L+7: “Good Girls” is increasing by +92% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 0.60 to a 1.15) and +1.7 million viewers overall (2.4 million to 4.1 million). With the addition of 35-day linear and projected non-linear ratings, the “Good Girls” figure grows to a 2.49 in 18-49, a +315% increase versus its L+SD 0.40. L+35+Digital: “Good Girls” derives 43% of its L+35+digital 18-49 rating from nonlinear sources, the #1 biggest percentage among NBC dramas.

NEW YORK – April 30, 2019 – NBC News’ TODAY was the number-one morning show for the month of April, topping ABC’s “Good Morning America” in the key A25-54 demo. TODAY has now won the key demo for 44 straight months (174 consecutive weeks), its best streak in over six years. TODAY came within just 9,000 viewers of GMA for the month, it’s closest April margin in seven years. Additionally, TODAY widened its demo lead versus GMA month over month and versus last year. 

Last week, TODAY was number one in the key A25-54 demo and won in total viewers Wednesday and Thursday. TODAY also narrowed the total viewer gap with GMA by 52% versus last year.

NBC NIGHTLY NEWS WITH LESTER HOLT IS #1 FOR APRIL

Wins Key A25-54 Demo for the Month, Grows Advantage Over ABC Compared to Prior Year
Continues at #1 Season-to-Date in Both A25-54 

April 30, 2019 – NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt leads the broadcast nets in April as the #1 most-watched evening newscast in the key A25-54 demo, according to Nielsen Media Research. Nightly News also tops all broadcast networks season-to-date in both A25-54 and A18-49.

For the month of April, the newscast tallies its fourth consecutive demo win in A25-54, averaging 1.627 million viewers, leading CBS by +523,000 (+47%) and ABC by +13,000 (+1%). Compared to the previous year, Nightly News grew its advantage in the demo most-valued by advertisers by +12,000 vs. ABC.

Nightly News continues its reign as the #1 most-watched evening newscast season-to-date in both the key demo and A18-49, leading CBS by +590,000 and ABC by +35,000 in A25-54.

This past month, Lester Holt interviewed Acting Homeland Security Chief Kevin McAleenan in his first television interview, where he said separating migrant families at the U.S. southern border is "not on the table." Holt also led NBC News’ special coverage of the Mueller Report alongside Savannah Guthrie. Additionally, Nightly News launched “Her Take with Cynthia McFadden,” a new series spotlighting the voices of women who have vastly different experiences.
April 2019:

NEW YORK — April 23, 2019 — “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has won the late-night ratings week of April 15-19 in adults 18-49 by a +20% margin over “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.

It’s the biggest advantage for “Tonight” over a week of Colbert originals since Nov. 19-23, 2018 (0.77 vs. 0.43, +79%), Thanksgiving Week, when NBC benefited from a high-rated overrun of a primetime NFL football game that Thursday. Excluding weeks of big NFL boosts, it was Fallon’s biggest margin since Sept. 17-21, 2018 (0.50 vs. 0.35, +43%).
“Tonight” ranked #1 versus “Late Show” and “Kimmel” for the wek in all key demographics – adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 (including a tie in men 18-34).

“Tonight’s” strong week was paced by the Monday, April 15 telecast, which delivered the show’s biggest overall audience in nearly seven weeks. Averaging 2.664 million viewers, the Monday episode was the show’s most-watched since Tuesday, Feb. 26 (2.738 million, with guests Tyler Perry and Sarah Hyland, and musical guest Weezer), the night of the “Voice 16” Tuesday premiere.

The April 15 telecast, the first “Tonight Show” to dedicate its full hour to a Broadway musical, featured Cher and the stars of Broadway’s “The Cher Show” – Stephanie J. Block, Teal Wicks and Micaela Diamond.

Last week at 12:35 a.m. ET, “Late Night with Seth Meyers” ranked #1 versus “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and “Nightline” in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and all other key measures.

The Monday edition of “The Voice” tied for #3 among primetime programs on the Big 4 networks in the key demographic of adults 18-49 for the week, In total viewers, the Monday “Voice” ranked #6 and the Tuesday edition finished #7.

Season to date, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 (tie) and all key adult-female demographics. In total viewers, excluding sports, NBC is running within 1.485 million persons of #1 CBS, NBC’s closest position to #1 in total viewers at this point in the season, excluding sports, in 16 years, since trailing by 688,000 persons at this time in 2002-03.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — April 16, 2019 — NBC has averaged a 0.7 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.7 million viewers overall for the primetime ratings week of April 8-14, according to “live plus same day” viewership figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Excluding sports, Monday and Tuesday editions of “The Voice” tied for #4 among primetime programs on the Big 4 networks in the key demographic of adults 18-49 for the week, with the Monday telecast ranking #5 in total viewers and the Tuesday edition finishing #7 by that measure.

Season to date, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 (tie) and all key adult-female demographics. In total viewers, excluding sports, NBC is running within 1.470 million persons of #1 CBS, NBC’s closest position to #1 in total viewers at this point in the season, excluding sports, in 16 years, since trailing by 760,000 persons at this time in 2002-03. .

Tuesday
NBC wins the night in adults 18-49.
“The Voice” (1.2 rating in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) tied as the #1 show of the night in adults 18-49 with its first Tuesday telecast in five weeks, tying for the timeslot win in adults 18-49 and winning the hour in adults 18-34 and all key adult-female demos. “The Voice” grew half-hour to half-hour by +18% in adults 18-49 (1.1 to 1.2). L+35+Digital: The Tuesday edition of “The Voice” has increased by +64% in the 18-49 demo going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.70 to a 2.79).
“The Village” (0.7 rating in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET), in its new 9 p.m. timeslot, tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks in the hour in adults 18-49, and also ranked #1 or tied for #1 among those nets in adults 18-34, men 18-34 and all key adult-female demos. “The Village” maintained 100% of the previous week’s 10 p.m. telecast (which benefited from a lead-in from the season finale of “This Is Us”) in 18-49 (0.7 vs. 0.7 at 10:01 p.m.) and retained 99% in total viewers (4.1 million vs. 4.2 million).
“New Amsterdam” (0.7 rating in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET), with its first telecast in four weeks, won the timeslot among the ABC, CBS and NBC dramas in adults 18-49 and also ranked #1 or tied for #1 in the timeslot among those dramas in adults, men and women 18-34; men and women 18-49; and adults and women 25-54. L+7: “New Amsterdam” has grown by +106% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.18 to a 2.43) and +5.3 million viewers overall (6.3 million to 11.6 million) going from L+SD to L+7. The gain of +5.335 million viewers is the #4 biggest L+7 lift on television so far this season. L+35+Digital: “New Amsterdam” has grown by +238% in the 18-49 demo going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.18 to a 3.99).

Wednesday
An encore“Chicago Med” averaged a 0.5 rating in 18-49 and 4.2 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET.
An encore telecast of “Chicago Fire” (0.6 rating in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) won the hour in total viewers and topped the show’s prior rebroadcast (4.1 million vs. 4.0 million on March 13).
A rebroadcast of “Chicago P.D.” (0.5 rating in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) rated within 0.1 of a point of #1 in the timeslot versus original drama competition on ABC and CBS and beat them to win the hour in women 18-49.

Thursday
“Superstore” (0.9 rating in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall from 8-8:30 p.m. ET) grew +13% week to week in 18-49 (0.9 vs. 0.8) and +11% in total viewers (3.4 million vs. 3.1 million), to equal the show’s top 18-49 rating since March 22, 2018 (1.1 in 18-49). “Superstore” ranked #2 or tied for #2 in the timeslot among the Big 4 networks in men 18-49, men 25-54 and adults, men and women 18-34. “Blindspot” (0.4 rating in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) maintained 100% week to week in 18-49 (0.4 vs. 0.4) and +99% in total viewers (2.860 million vs. 2.891 million).
“The Blacklist” (0.5 rating in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) maintained 100% week to week in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.5) and was 99% in total viewers (3.569 million vs. 3.619 million). L+35+Digital: “Blacklist” is increasing by +204% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 0.55 to a 1.67).
“Dateline NBC” (0.6 rating in 18-49, 0.8 in adults 25-54, 3.3 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) equaled the show’s high for a Friday edition since Dec. 14, 2018 in adults 18-49 (0.8 from 9-11 p.m.) and matched its Friday high since Jan. 18 in adults 25-54 (1.0), while delivering its most-watched Friday episode since March 22 in total viewers (3.6 million).

“World of Dance” (0.7 rating in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) maintained a steady 0.7 in 18-49 for a third week in a row and grew in total viewers (3.3 million vs. 3.2 million). L+3: The previous week’s “World of Dance” grew +43% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+3 (from a 0.7 to a 1.0) and +925,000 viewers (3.2 million to 4.2 million).
“Good Girls” (0.6 rating in 18-49, 2.4 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) equaled the show’s highest 18-49 rating since its season premiere on March 3 (0.7) and delivered its most-watched episode since March 10, the second “Good Girls” telecast of the season. L+3: The prior Sunday’s “Good Girls” increased by +67% in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+3 (0.6 to 1.0) and by +1.3 million viewers (2.4 million to 3.7 million). Nightly News averaged 1.585 million in A25-54, the demo most valued by advertisers, topping CBS by +477,000 (+43%) and ABC by +46,000 (+3%). Among the younger A18-49 demo, NBC garnered 1.052 million, surpassing CBS by +232,000 (+28%) and ABC by +2,000.

Nightly News also continues its reign as the #1 evening newscast season-to-date among both demos, beating CBS by +592,000 (+46%) and ABC by +44,000 (+2%) in A25-54.

Last week, Nightly News debuted “Her Take with Cynthia McFadden,” a new series spotlighting the voices of women who have vastly different experiences, some famous, some not. McFadden spoke with Cindy McCain on Friday, launching the broadcast’s new series.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — April 9, 2019 — NBC has tied for #2 among the Big 4 networks in primetime results for the week of April 1-7 in adults 18-49, finishing behind only CBS, which was boosted by high-rated Saturday coverage of NCAA Basketball Tournament, according to “live plus same day” viewership figures from Nielsen Media Research.
Excluding sports, Tuesday’s “This Is Us” season finale was the week’s #2 telecast in adults 18-49, Monday’s “Voice” tied for #4, Tuesday’s “Ellen’s Game of Games” tied for #9, Wednesday’s “Chicago Fire” tied for #11 and Wednesday’s “Chicago Med” and “P.D.” tied for #17.

In addition to tying for #2 for the week in adults 18-49, NBC ranked #2 outright in adults 25-54 and #2 or tied for #2 in adults and women 18-34, men and women 18-49 and men and women 25-54.

Season to date, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, adults 18-34 (tie) and all key adult-female demographics. In total viewers, excluding sports, NBC is running within 1.472 million persons of #1 CBS, tied with last year for NBC’s closest position to #1 in total viewers at this point in the season, excluding sports, in 16 years, since trailing by 782,000 persons at this time in 2002-03. 

Weekly ratings are “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date ratings are averages of “live plus seven day” data except for the two most recent weeks, which are “live plus same day.”

NBC highlights for the week of April 1-7:
Monday
NBC wins Monday night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and every other key measure (including ties in adults 18-34 and men 18-34), taking six of six half-hours among those nets in adults 18-49.
“The Voice” (1.5 rating in 18-49, 8.5 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) is the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and most other key categories, winning the time period by a +36% margin over “American Idol” and Fox’s dramas in 18-49 (1.5 vs. 1.1) and by +2.3 million persons or +37% in total viewers (8.5 million vs. 6.2 million for “Idol”).
“Live Plus Seven Day Plus Digital”: This cycle’s six “Blind Audition” episodes averaged a 3.23 L+7+digital rating, for a +10% increase over the 2.93 average for the fall cycle’s Blind Auditions. It’s the first time on record (dating back to the 2014-15 season for L+7+digital) that Blind Auditions for the spring cycle have topped the fall cycle. Each of the six Blind Audition episodes this spring rank among “The Voice’s” top six seven-day digital deliveries on record. The “Voice 16” Blind Audition telecasts grew from a 1.96 in L+SD to a 3.23 in L+7+digital (+65%).
“Live Plus 35 Day Plus Digital” Ratings: Monday’s “The Voice” has grown by +62% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.78 to a 2.89).
“The Enemy Within” (0.8 rating in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the hour versus ABC’s “The Fix” and CBS’ “Bull” in adults, men and women 18-49; adults, men and women 25-54; and adults and women 18-34, delivering a +33% margin of victory among those nets in adults 18-49 (0.8 vs. 0.6 for “Bull”). “Enemy” maintained a steady 0.8 rating in 18-49 for a third straight week. L+7: “Enemy Within” has grown by +68% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 0.95 to a 1.60) and more than +3.1 million viewers overall (5.1 million to 8.2 million).

Tuesday
“Ellen’s Game of Games” (1.2 rating in 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) scored as the #2 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 behind only “This Is Us,” winning the 8-9 p.m. hour ahead of “NCIS.” The April 2 “Ellen’s” grew from half-hour to half-hour in every key measure, including a gain of +18% in adults 18-49 (1.1 to 1.3) and delivered a steady 1.2 in 18-49 for a fourth week in a row. L+35+Digital: “Game of Games” is growing by +50% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.46 to a 2.19).
The season finale of “This Is Us” (1.9 rating in 18-49, 8.2 million viewers overall from 9-10:01 p.m. ET) scored the show’s highest 18-49 rating since Jan. 22 (2.0) and delivered its most-watched episode since that same date (8.229 million). It was the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 in adults 18-49 and most other key demographics and won the 8-9 p.m. timeslot in every key demo, including a +111% margin of victory in adults 18-49 (1.9 vs. 0.9 for CBS’ #2 “FBI”). “TIU” was up +12% week to week in 18-49 (1.9 vs. 1.7) and +8% in total viewers (8.2 million vs. 7.6 million). L+7: “This Is Us” is increasing by +88% in 18-49 rating (from a 2.04 to a 3.83) and +5.5 million viewers overall (8.4 million to 13.9 million) going from L+SD to L+7. The gain of +1.79 rating points in 18-49 is the #1 strongest average L+7 lift on television this season and the increase of +5.487 million viewers is television’s #3 biggest L+7 gain. L+35+Digital: “This Is Us” has grown by +241% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 2.04 to a 6.97).
“The Village” (0.7 rating in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) retained 100% of the prior week’s 18-49 rating (0.7 vs. 0.7) and grew +3% week to week in total viewers (4.2 million vs. 4.0 million). “Village” tied for #1 in the timeslot among the ABC, CBS and NBC dramas in adults 18-34, women 18-34 and women 25-54 and was #1 outright among those dramas in women 18-49. L+3: The prior week’s “The Village” grew by +43% in 18-49 going from L+SD Nielsens to L+3 (0.7 to 1.0 and +2.1 million persons in total viewers (4.4 million to 6.5 million).

Wednesday
NBC won the night in total viewers and adults 25-54 and tied for #1 in adults 18-49, with “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago Med” scoring as the #1-2 shows of the night in total viewers. NBC’s Wednesday schedule of “Chicago” dramas has ranked as the #1 regular lineup in total viewers on 17 of the 18 Wednesdays it’s aired so far this season.
“Chicago Med” (1.0 rating in 18-49, 7.8 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) ranked as the #2 most-watched show of the night on the Big 4 networks, behind only “Chicago Fire,” and won the 8 p.m. hour in total viewers over such competition as “Survivor” and “Empire.” L+35+Digital: “Med” is growing by +114% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.25 to a 2.67).
“Chicago Fire” (1.1 rating in 18-49, 8.2 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) ranked as the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in total viewers and won the 9 p.m. hour in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. In total viewers, “Fire” more than doubled the timeslot’s #2 network (8.2 million persons vs. 3.7 million for ABC’s comedies), leading by +4.5 million persons or +121%. L+35+Digital: “Fire” is increasing by +133% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.25 to a 2.91).
“Chicago P.D.” (1.0 rating in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the timeslot in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and every other key measure, taking the hour by a +67% margin in adults 18-49 (1.0 vs. 0.6 each for “SEAL Team” and “Whiskey Cavalier”) and topping the combined audience of the ABC-CBS drama competition in total viewers (6.9 million persons vs. a combined 6.8 million for “SEAL Team” and “Whiskey Cavalier”). L+35+Digital: “P.D.” has grown by +159% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.14 to a 2.95).

Thursday
“Superstore” (0.8 rating in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall from 8-8:30 p.m. ET), facing original competition from “The Big Bang Theory” for the first time in four weeks, retained 100% week to week in 18-49 (0.8 vs. 0.8). L+35+Digital: “Superstore” generates 43% of its L+35+digital 18-49 rating from nonlinear sources, tied for the #2 biggest percentage on the NBC schedule, behind only “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
“A.P. Bio” (0.5 rating in 18-49, 1.9 million viewers overall from 8:30-9 p.m. ET), facing original competition from “Young Sheldon” for the first time in four weeks, maintained 100% week to week in 18-49, delivering a steady 0.5 in 18-49 for a fifth consecutive telecast. L+7+Digital: “A.P. Bio” generates 36% of its L+7+digital 18-49 rating from nonlinear sources, tied for the #3 biggest percentage on the NBC schedule, behind only “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “Superstore.”
The season finale of “Will & Grace” (0.7 rating in 18-49, 3.0 million viewers overall from 9-9:30 p.m. ET) maintained 100% week to week in 18-49 (0.7 vs. 0.7) to equal the show’s high since Feb. 7 (0.8). “Will & Grace” built on its lead-in by +40% in adults 18-49. L+35+Digital: “Will & Grace” has increased by +221% in the 18-49 demo going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 0.75 to a 2.41).
“Abby’s” (0.5 rating in 18-49, 2.1 million viewers overall from 9:30-10 p.m. ET) retained 100% of the prior week’s series premiere in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.5) to make “Abby’s” the first new comedy introduced this season by the Big 4 networks to maintain 100% of its 18-49 rating from Week 1 to Week 2. “Abby’s” also generated Week 2 increases in men 18-49 and men 18-34. L+3+Digital: The prior week’s “Abby’s” premiere grew by +90% after three days in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+3+digital results (from a 0.52 to 0.99).
“Law & Order: SVU” (0.8 rating in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) ranked #1 in the timeslot among the ABC, CBS and NBC dramas in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 (tie), retaining 100% of the show’s prior original two weeks ago in 18-49 (0.8 vs. 0.8 on March 21) and 25-54 (1.1 vs. 1.1). L+35+Digital: “SVU” is growing by +265% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 0.88 to a 3.21).

Friday
“Blindspot” (0.4 rating in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) retained 100% of the show’s prior 18-49 rating of two weeks earlier (0.4 vs. 0.4 on March 22).
“The Blacklist” (0.6 rating in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) maintained 100% week to week in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.5). L+7: In the first quarter of 2019, “The Blacklist” has averaged a 0.56 rating in 18-49 through 10 telecasts in L+SD and a 1.23 in L+7, for a lift of +121%. Among total viewers, The Blacklist grew +88% in L+7 (3.849 million to 7.226 million). Among shows launched during midseason, “The Blacklist” ranked #1 on the Big 4 networks in terms of the biggest L+3 and L+7 percentage lifts in 18-49 through the first quarter. In total viewers, “Blacklist” generated the top L+3 percentage lift for a midseason show and was tied for the #1 L+7 lift (with Fox’s “The Orville”).
“Dateline NBC” (0.5 rating in 18-49, 0.8 in adults 25-54, 3.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) equaled the show’s high for a Friday edition since March 8 in adults 18-49 (0.6) and matched its high since Jan. 18 in adults 25-54 (1.0), increasing by +0.1 of a point or +25% week to week in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.4), +14% in 25-54(0.8 vs. 0.7) and +1% in total viewers (3.238 million vs. 3.197 million). 

Sunday
“World of Dance” (0.7 rating in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET), despite this week’s special competition from CBS coverage of the ACM Awards, maintained 100% week to week in both 18-49 (0.7 vs. 0.7) and total viewers (3.240 million vs. 3.241 million).
“Good Girls” (0.6 rating in 18-49, 2.4 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET), despite this week’s special competition from CBS coverage of the ACM Awards, maintained 100% of last week’s 0.6 in 18-49 and was up +11% in total viewers versus last week’s 2.2 million, equaling the show’s highest 18-49 rating since its season premiere on March 3 (0.7).

April 9, 2019 – NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt is the #1 most-watched evening newscast in both the A25-54 and A18-49 demos during the first week of April, according to Nielsen Media Research. Nightly News is also the only newscast to post week-over-week increases in both demos.

For the week of April 1, Nightly News won every single night in the key A25-54 demo, averaging 1.68 million viewers, leading ABC by +112,000 (+7%) and CBS by +571,000 viewers (+51%). The broadcast also grew week over week by 4% while ABC and CBS both dropped by -4% and -8%, respectively.

Among A18-49, Nightly News attracted 1.11 million viewers, topping ABC by its biggest advantage in 12 weeks with +76,000 (+7%) and CBS by +331,000 (+43%). The program also improved from the previous week by +1% while ABC was flat and CBS decreased by -8%.

Nightly News also continues to lead the broadcasters as the #1-most-watched newscast season to date in both the key and younger demos, beating ABC by +43,000 and CBS by +598,000 in A25-54.
