Emmy and Tony Award Winner James Corden Returns to Host the 2019 Tony Awards
NEW YORK – Tony Award nominations were announced today for THE 73rd ANNUAL TONY AWARDS®, airing live on Sunday, June 9 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. Nominations were announced live on CBS THIS MORNING by co-host Gayle King, Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress Bebe Neuwirth, and Emmy and Tony Award-nominated actor Brandon Victor Dixon.
“Hadestown” leads with 14 nominations this year.
As previously announced, Emmy and Tony Award winner James Corden will host the 2019 Tony Awards for the second time, live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Nominees for THE 73rd ANNUAL TONY AWARDS® were selected by an independent committee of 42 theater professionals appointed by the Tony Awards Administration Committee. The 2019 Tony Awards are presented by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The list of nominations follows.

The TONY Awards, which honors theater professionals for distinguished achievement on Broadway, has been broadcast on CBS since 1978. This year marks the 73rd anniversary of the TONY Awards, which were first held on April 6, 1947 at the Waldorf Astoria’s Grand Ballroom. The ceremony is presented by Tony Award Productions, which is a joint venture of the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, which founded the Tonys.
Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment will return as executive producers. Weiss will also serve as director for the 20th consecutive year. Ben Winston is a producer.
