THIS JULY PBS DISTRIBUTION PREMIERES
“GRANTCHESTER: SEASON 4” AND
“WALTER PRESENTS: KILLER BY THE LAKE, SEASON 1” ON THE PBS MASTERPIECE PRIME VIDEO CHANNEL
Arlington, VA – June 26, 2019 – This July, PBS Distribution will begin streaming two murder mystery crime-thrillers on the PBS MASTERPIECE Prime Video Channel: “Grantchester: Season 4” and “Walter Presents: Killer by The Lake, Season 1.” The fourth season of the popular mystery series Grantchester is a killer – it marks the final appearance of James Norton as crime-solving Vicar Sidney Chambers and introduces Tom Brittney (Outlander, Call the Midwife) as new cast member Reverend Will Davenport. “Walter Presents: Killer by The Lake” is the follow up to the smash hit French thriller, “Vanished by the Lake.” The series revisits troubled detective Lise who has started a new life with her husband and baby, but this happy, rural idyll is suddenly shattered with the discovery of two dead women. The subscription rate for the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel is $5.99/month with an Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscription.
Information about each of the programs is listed below.
Grantchester: Season 4
Grantchester returns with a new vicar: Tom Brittney (Outlander, Call the Midwife) joins the cast of Season 4 as Reverend Will Davenport — man of the people and crime-solving partner to Robson Green’s Geordie Keating in 1950s Grantchester.
James Norton, who plays the charismatic, jazz-loving clergyman Sidney Chambers, makes his final appearance during the series.
Confident, caring and enigmatic, Grantchester’s new young parish priest channels his boundless energy into a quest for social justice. He is a man of God, but with the devil inside of him. As Geordie draws him into righting the wrongs of criminal Cambridge, Will’s own troubled past is unearthed.
In addition to Norton and Green, returning members of the acclaimed ensemble include Tessa Peake-Jones, Kacey Ainsworth, and Al Weaver.
Walter Presents: Killer by The Lake: Season 1
Walter Presents: Killer by The Lake is a follow up to last year’s smash hit French thriller, Vanished by the Lake. Three years after solving the disappearances of teenage girls by Lac de Sainte-Croix, Lise and husband Clovis have re-established themselves 200 miles away at Lac d’Annecy with nine-month old son, Tom. After two bodies are found within two days, Lise is placed as lead detective on the murder case. It soon becomes clear that this is the work of a twisted serial killer, and Lise must once again face her past demons.
But murdered women aren’t the only demons haunting Lise; her mother’s Alzheimer’s continues to deteriorate and her husband Clovis is becoming increasingly more distant, leading Lise to question everything she thought she knew about their marriage. But to have any chance of catching the serial killer, husband and wife must work together before someone they know gets hurt…
Jeanne Le Guillou and Bruno Dega return to create this spin-off after pulling in over 6 million viewers in France and international success for Vanished by the Lake.
