Five New Docuseries and one Feature Documentary Build on the Success of The Weekly As FX Makes Broader Push Into the Non-Fiction Genre

LOS ANGELES, August 6, 2019 - FX today unveiled five new docuseries and one documentary feature as part of an ongoing expansion into non-fiction programming. Announced by Nick Grad and Gina Balian, Presidents, Original Programming, FX Entertainment, the new series build on the success of The Weekly, FX's new narrative docuseries with The New York Times.

Under the guidance of FX's Jonathan Frank and J.J. Klein, we are now honored to partner with these new teams to create docuseries and features that will join FX's legacy of fearless and groundbreaking programming."
The Weekly posted series high ratings for its seventh episode, "Connecting the World," its first hour-long episode, in virtually all key demographics, including Total Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 in Live+3. The Weekly is averaging 1.4 million Total Viewers across all linear and non-linear platforms, a +206% increase over the primary telecast average. Additionally, The Weekly has reached 6.7 million Total Viewers to date.

OUTLAW: THE SAGA OF AFENI AND TUPAC SHAKUR

For decades female stand-up comedians have struggled against biases both conscious and unconscious, but now an interesting narrative is emerging as women are more daringly using the medium to express their points of view on their experiences and the culture at large. Women in Comedy, a feature length documentary by director Andrea Nevins (Tiny Shoulders: Rethinking Barbie), will examine the changing landscape for women in stand up through intimate interviews and the examination of their groundbreaking art in the post Me Too era.
