Fresh off the Boat: Season Six Lead Sheet

Fresh off the Boat: Season Six Lead Sheet (9/27)

FRESH OFF THE BOAT (Fridays, 8:30-9:00 p.m. ET/PT)
Season Premieres Friday, Sept. 27, 2019

Set in the ’90s, hip-hop loving teenager Eddie Huang (Hudson Yang) and his family have lived in Orlando for a few years now and have assimilated nicely into the suburban American lifestyle. Cultural differences still present everyday challenges, but close friends, neighbors and business acquaintances are there to help them navigate the complexities of raising a family of future millennials.
This year, the Huang family is at a crossroads. Oldest son Eddie (Hudson Yang) is on a journey to figure out what exactly he wants to do with the rest of his life, and with that, the other family members must take a look at their own paths.
Dad Louis (Randall Park) is managing his successful restaurant, Cattleman’s Ranch; but with his kids getting older and more independent, he finds himself searching for new hobbies and business ventures, while mom Jessica (Constance Wu) is leaning into her career as an educator. After all, keeping children in line is her specialty.
The younger Huangs are in for their own self-discovery as they start to figure out who they are without older brother Eddie. Emery (Forrest Wheeler), always one to fly under the radar, is working on discovering his passions; while golden child Evan (Ian Chen) starts to spread his wings and act like, well, your typical eighth-grader – whether Jessica likes it or not. All the while, Grandma Jenny (Lucille Soong) remains ever a presence leading the family through these new experiences – for better or worse.
Next door, neighbors Marvin (Ray Wise) and Honey (Chelsey Crisp) are settling into life with three new babies: two humans and one retirement boat.
Inspired by a true story, “Fresh Off the Boat” stars Randall Park as Louis Huang, Constance Wu as Jessica Huang, Hudson Yang as Eddie Huang, Forrest Wheeler as Emery Huang, Ian Chen as Evan Huang, Lucille Soong as Grandma Huang, Chelsey Crisp as Honey and Ray Wise as Marvin.
“Fresh Off the Boat” was created for television by Nahnatchka Khan, who also serves as consulting producer. Keith Heisler and Matt Kuhn are showrunners and executive producers.
