On the Thursday, September 19th edition of “Tamron Hall,” author and former anchor
Gretchen Carlson discussed her upcoming NXIVM sex cult and college admission scandal documentaries. Carlson shared her experience as a pioneer against sexual harassment in the workplace and how it led to the upcoming “Bombshell”
film, in which Carlson will be portrayed by Nicole Kidman.
In her new Lifetime documentary, “Behind the Headlines: The College Admission Scandal,” Carlson interviews real families affected by the ongoing admissions scandals which
has been driving national headlines. Carlson also discussed "Escaping the NXIVM Cult: A Mother's Fight to Save Her Daughter,” featuring "Dynasty" actress Catherine Oxenberg’s attempt to save her daughter India from the group. Oxenberg will join “Tamron Hall”
on Friday, September 20 to share the terrifying details. Pull quotes from the Carlson interview below:
On how Carlson felt about being portrayed by Nicole Kidman in the upcoming film “Bombshell":
“Due to NDAs and settlement clauses, I am not able to be a part of the projects, but I am so glad that they continue the dialogue, and am honored to be portrayed by actresses
of that caliber.”
“It’s not like on my resume that one day I envisioned that I would be one of the poster children of sexual harassment in the workplace, but the one constant thing about
my life is that I’m a hard worker and I still have a fire in my belly to do good work. That’s why I’ve been doing so much work to help other women.”
As part of her continuing “Legends Series," Tamron spoke with 75-year-old founding member of
The Supremes, Mary Wilson, who introduced Tamron to her “Dancing With The Stars” partner, Brandon Armstrong.
On where she was when Christie Brinkley broke her arm:
“We were rehearsing in the next rehearsal hall and then someone ran over and said “Guess what” and they told us that she had fallen on her arm, as we were working. That
could have happened to me! I was like “Oh my god” and then they said it was really really bad and they rushed her to the hospital.”
On her relationship with The Supremes' Diana Ross:
“When I met Florence and Diana, I met the other parts of myself and I fell in love with them as sisters.”
