TANYA RIVERO NAMED ANCHOR AT CBSN
Tanya Rivero has been named anchor at CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 free streaming platform, it was announced today. She begins her new role on Monday, Sept. 9.
Prior to this position, Rivero was a freelance anchor and reporter for CBSN, where she covered a variety of national and international breaking news and feature stories. Rivero anchored CBSN’s live coverage of the Mueller report this past spring and had one of the first national interviews with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez before she was elected to Congress.
Before joining CBS News, she was the anchor of “Lunch Break with Tanya Rivero” on The Wall Street Journal’s digital channel, WSJ Live. Prior to that, she worked as an anchor and correspondent for ABC News, anchoring “ABC News Now,” “America This Morning” and “World News Now.”
Also at ABC News she was the host of “Good Morning America Health” and “Good Money,” as well as a correspondent for “Good Morning America,” “Nightline,” “World News with Diane Sawyer” and “Weekend World News with David Muir.”
Rivero began her career in journalism as a reporter and fill-in anchor for WCBS-TV (CBS 2) in New York City, the flagship station of CBS Television Network.
She is a graduate of Yale University and the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. She also danced professionally with the New York City Ballet, before attending Yale. Rivero lives in Manhattan with her husband and two children.
